We are seeking an experienced Supervisor, Warehouse Operations who will play a pivotal role in optimizing the Element Biosciences supply chain operations. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about building teams, improving operational performance, reducing errors, and enhancing customer satisfaction. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in executing coordinating, monitoring, and leading shipping, receiving and internal warehouse processes in a fast-paced environment. Experience with cold chain pick, pack and ship operations, managing transportation of sensitive capital equipment, international shipping documentation and people leadership is a must. This role will report to the Manager, Warehouse & Logistics and will be a San Diego basedroleleading all warehouse floor operations at our Rancho Bernardo warehouse location.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Drive shipping, receiving, and internal goods movement in a dynamic warehouse environment
  • Lead, Execute and support all warehouse functions
  • Recommend and deliver warehouse KPI and productivity metrics
  • Must have comprehensive experience shipping within cold chain constraints, materials movement, inventory control and warehousing & distribution competencies through hands-on experience using an ERP system), preferably in a Diagnostic environment
  • Create, revise, and implement work instructions in collaboration with warehouse leadership for operational effectiveness
  • Recommend, lead, and support process improvement initiatives in warehouse operations and in collaboration with other groups as needed
  • Identify and help implement safety, quality, cost, and service improvements
  • Lead team responsible for daily warehouse execution requiring independent action, creative problem-solving, collaboration and a high degree of initiative with a customer service mindset
  • Function as a key contributor to people-leadership decisions and projects that align with company goals and objectives
  • Generate and analyze performance and capacity reports to assist in daily, weekly and monthly decision-making
  • Lead, train and track warehouse staff development and operational effectiveness
  • Facilitate subordinate 1:1 and appropriate skip level meetings to stay connected with day to day operations

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with leadership experience preferably in the Biotech/Life Sciences industry is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, preferably in a life sciences manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 years ERP system experience required with preference to shipping module subject matter expertise
  • Extensive experience leading dynamic, high volume, cold chain, pick, pack and ship operations
  • Experience with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). With analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Proactive in approach to work, identifying potential issues well in advance
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and accountability
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to interact well with direct and cross-functional team members
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds, stand for extended periods and able to operate a forklift and or box truck on as needed

  • San Diego, CA (Rancho Bernardo-Warehouse)

Travel:

  • Domestic travel less than 5%

Job Type:

  • Full-time/Exempt

Base Compensation Pay Range:

  • $97,000 - $119,000

In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.

Please note: Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
