We are seeking a technically adept Director, Accounting, who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of Element’s financial statements. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about contributing to the success of a future world class finance organization. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in a wide range of accounting topics who can grow and assume new responsibilities as the company evolves. Experience working in a public accounting firm and/or a publicly traded company is a must. This role will report to the Vice President, Corporate Controller and will be a San Diego based role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Own the end-to-end accounting close process including the review of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
Provide technical accounting leadership over critical areas, displaying good judgment as to the appropriate accounting alternatives for a growing company.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Support the establishment and enhancement of a strong internal control environment.
Effectively interact with Human Resources and third-party providers to ensure the proper delivery of and accounting for payroll and employee benefits.
Support and/or perform the processing of certain tax filings.
Identify, provide input to and/or support improvements to systems and processes to drive efficiency and enhance effectiveness.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline with a minimum of 10+ years of broad, progressive accounting experience.
A CPA designation is required. Candidates with an inactive license will be considered.
Strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of US GAAP.
Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Experience with the preparation of financial statements in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment preferred.
NetSuite proficiency preferred.
Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
A passion for teamwork and continuous improvement.

Base Compensation Pay Range:

$152,000 - $215,000

In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.

Please note: Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
