Zordi, an innovative AgTech company working to make CEA hyper-scalable, is seeking an experienced plant care specialist to serve as Grower for their strawberry greenhouse farm in Vineland, NJ. Zordi is increasing its production capacity, and needs a motivated, proven agriculturist to help run this expanded operation. This individual will manage crop health at the site. They will work within the Production Department to ensure healthy plants, low pest and disease pressure and high yield.
Primary Focus: Crop health and productivity through hands-on plant care, environmental control, and team training.

Zordi, an innovative AgTech company working to make CEA hyper-scalable, is seeking an experienced plant care specialist to serve as Grower for their strawberry greenhouse farm in Vineland, NJ. Zordi is increasing its production capacity, and needs a motivated, proven agriculturist to help run this expanded operation. This individual will manage crop health at the site. They will work within the Production Department to ensure healthy plants, low pest and disease pressure and high yield.
Primary Focus: Crop health and productivity through hands-on plant care, environmental control, and team training.
Expected hours
- 40-50 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
- Saturday or Sunday, half to full day shift
- Holiday shifts
- Crop Management: Oversee all aspects of crop care, from planting to harvest, to ensure optimal yield and plant health.
- Scouting & Crop Registration: Regularly inspect plants for health, growth stage, and potential issues; maintain accurate records of observations.
- Nutrient & Chemical Management: Prepare and apply fertilizers, nutrients, and pest control substances, adhering to best practices and safety protocols.
- Environmental Controls: Adjust greenhouse climate controls (temperature, humidity, light) as needed to optimize growing conditions.
- Yield Forecasting: Monitor and project yield, collaborating with the Operations Manager to ensure alignment with production goals.
- Staff Training: Train and mentor team members on crop care techniques, best practices, and technology use.
- Food Safety: Enforce food safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Incorporate Zordi proprietary technology.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in hydroponic strawberry production and associated crop care techniques.
- Able to monitor and adjust environmental conditions to promote optimal plant health and production.
- Skilled at identifying nutritional deficiencies, diseases, and pest issues and implementing timely solutions, including an ongoing Integrated Pest Management program.
- Capable of managing digital records and working with online tools.
- Capable of identifying and troubleshooting various equipment failures across irrigation, HVAC, and greenhouse systems.
- Ability to work in varied conditions, lift 50 lbs, and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Strongly preferred: Proficient in English and Spanish.
- Bachelor's Degree in horticulture, agriculture or related fields.
- 3-5 years minimum work experience managing people in greenhouses.
- Holds a Private Pesticide Applicator License for NJ.
- Demonstrated success in similar roles.
