Overview

Microsoft 365 and Copilot depend on some of the largest telemetry and data platforms in the industry. Every day, trillions of signals flow through systems such as Azure Storage, Cosmos, and Blueshift to power operational insights, reliability engineering and business intelligence across Microsoft's cloud services.

The SWIQ Performance team helps ensure these platforms remain efficient, scalable, and cost-effective as Microsoft 365 and Copilot continue to grow. Our work focuses on reducing infrastructure costs, improving resource utilization, and building intelligent systems that help engineering teams make better operational decisions at scale.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys solving large-scale efficiency challenges. You'll work on opportunities ranging from storage lifecycle optimization and data footprint reduction to automated recommendation systems and AI-powered operational intelligence. The impact of this work is significant—small improvements at our scale can translate into millions of dollars in annual savings while improving the efficiency and sustainability of Microsoft's cloud infrastructure.

This role offers the opportunity to work across distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and AI-powered automation while partnering with teams across Microsoft 365 and Copilot.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
