The developers of Gears of War are looking for a dynamic and organized Story Producer for a 12-month fixed term contract. The Story Producer is responsible for coordinating one or more multidisciplinary teams composed of artists, designers, and technical artists and working directly with their Senior Producer to drive features to completion. In this role you will coordinate the critical dependencies between the groups and solve issues. As part of the Production team, you will be expected to help create and foster a collaborative, healthy, and high performing work environment. You will assist in the creation of production roadmaps based on backlogs and partner with product owners to establish sprint and milestone goals. They will execute against this plan by coordinating with their respective teams, communicating status, blockers and risks, following up on deliverables and ensuring the team has everything they need to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Organize and track cinematic content, partnering with Narrative, Cinematics, Audio, Design, Engineering.
- Track and manage milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables for cinematics, voice-over, and story content, and escalating issues as needed.
- Organize and track work across multiple disciplines and collaborators.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders and development teams, ensuring alignment on priorities & schedules.
- Run production meetings, capture action items, and drive follow-through on outstanding work and blockers.
- Contribute regular status updates, prepare reports on progress, risks, and upcoming deliverables.
- Administer project related processes internal and external to the team, such as running scrums / sprints, ensuring tickets are updated, and following up on blockers.
- Handle formal and informal organizational communication with stakeholders.
- Assist the Senior Producer in milestone planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Coordinate internal and outsourced development efforts supporting cinematic production, voice-over recording, performance capture, and narrative implementation.
- Identify opportunities to improve production workflows, team communication, and development processes.
- Help ensure story content, cinematics, and voice-over assets are delivered according to project priorities, quality expectations, and milestone commitments.
- Communicate goals to the team and motivate them to execute on time and at a high-quality level.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 1+ year(s) experience in production roles in gaming or entertainment industry, or other multi-disciplinary leadership
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in story production for games.
- 1+ year(s) experience managing relationships with stakeholders.
- Production experience with a variety of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall etc.)
- A good understanding of the game development cycle with an understanding of the creative process and its impact on business needs.
- Dependable organization, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience with JIRA, Hansoft or other project management software is a plus.
The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is $87,600 CAD - $131,400 CAD
