The Windows Fundamentals team advances the product foundations that enable Windows experiences to meet a consistently high bar, using customer insight, technical depth, data, and scalable engineering systems.

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager at the India Development Center to shape strategy and lead high-impact Fundamentals initiatives spanning multiple products, teams, and planning horizons. This is a senior individual contributor role for a product leader who can navigate deeply technical and ambiguous spaces, identify the most important opportunities, and mobilize broad organizations around clear customer outcomes. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic leadership: Define multi-year vision, strategy, and investment priorities for broad Fundamentals opportunities, connecting customer needs, competitive context, product direction, and engineering capabilities.
  • Portfolio impact: Identify and prioritize the highest-leverage opportunities across products and teams, balancing immediate customer outcomes with durable platform and engineering investments.
  • Product frameworks: Establish shared success metrics, principles, guardrails, and decision frameworks that enable teams to improve product Fundamentals consistently and at scale.
  • Cross-organizational leadership: Lead complex initiatives across engineering, design, research, data science, product, and business teams; create alignment where ownership, requirements, or solutions are initially unclear.
  • Technical and customer insight: Dive deeply into product behavior, telemetry, customer feedback, and system constraints to surface root causes, frame tradeoffs, and guide decisive action.
  • Execution and accountability: Translate strategy into measurable plans, drive critical decisions, manage dependencies and risks, and sustain accountability through delivery and ongoing product health.
  • Executive and partner influence: Communicate complex technical and business concepts clearly to senior leaders and partners, and influence priorities across organizational and geographic boundaries.
  • Organizational capability: Champion investments in tools, platforms, and operating mechanisms that improve visibility, accelerate learning, and prevent regressions across the product lifecycle.
  • IC leadership and culture: Serve as a role model and multiplier for the product management community through mentorship, rigorous product thinking, inclusive collaboration, and high standards of craftsmanship.
