Overview

The Account Technology Strategist is the technology lead and trusted advisor for priority customer relationships. This role partners closely with account leadership to understand customer priorities, assess technology landscapes, identify opportunities, and shape multi-year transformation roadmaps across AI, cloud, data, security, modern work, and business applications.

The role orchestrates specialists, engineering, customer success teams, and partners to help customers translate business priorities into executable technology plans. It requires strong executive presence, consultative selling discipline, technical depth, and the ability to connect customer outcomes with Microsoft solutions and services.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and articulate customer-aligned technology strategies that address business priorities, technology landscape, risks, and long-term transformation goals across Microsoft solution areas.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior business and technical decision makers by connecting technology investments to measurable outcomes and constructively challenging assumptions with relevant insights.
  • Partner with account leadership to define and execute account plans, identify technology-led growth opportunities, establish success measures, and maintain shared accountability for customer and Microsoft outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional orchestration across specialists, solution engineers, customer success teams, engineering, and partners, ensuring clear governance, dependencies, ownership, and escalation paths.
  • Help customers move from experimentation to scaled adoption by shaping secure, governed AI and innovation strategies that support productivity, operations, and business transformation.
  • Drive technical wins, workload adoption, consumption, value realization, and intent-to-use by aligning solution plans to agreed customer outcomes and account growth priorities.
  • Create executive briefings, workshops, recommendations, reusable practices, and internal guidance that improve customer engagement quality and team execution.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by bringing insights, feedback, blockers, and solution needs to internal teams and driving appropriate follow-through.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field and 7+ years of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, business consulting, or related technical/sales experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise senior executives and lead multi-year transformation strategies spanning AI, cloud, data, security, modern work, and business applications.
  • Proven success orchestrating cross-functional teams, partners, and executive stakeholders to achieve adoption, customer success, and growth outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear executive presentations, create effective written materials, and influence technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical judgment, and problem-solving capability, with the ability to connect customer needs to technology strategies and measurable business value.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related customer-facing experience; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital transformation or using technology to drive customer business outcomes.
  • 4+ years of experience in business consulting, consultative selling, or change management.
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical, support, partner, or cross-functional teams.
