As a Sr. Software Engineer (Architect) within Microsoft Digital (MSD), you will lead the design, architecture, and technical governance of enterprise-scale platforms that enable secure and scalable access to Microsoft 365 services, Power Platform, Copilot, and AI-driven solutions across multi-tenant environments. You will be responsible for reviewing and approving application architectures, defining platform standards, and driving the adoption of modern engineering patterns that enhance security, reliability, governance, and operational excellence. Working closely with engineering, product, security, and business stakeholders, you will shape the future of AI-powered enterprise platforms by leveraging Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, Agent SDK, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure technologies to deliver innovative, compliant, and scalable solutions that empower Microsoft employees and accelerate digital transformation.

Responsibilities
  • You will design secure, scalable, multi-tenant platform architectures for tools that provide governed access to Microsoft 365 services, Power Platform, Copilot, and related enterprise services.
  • You will review application architectures for access patterns, identity integration, data flow, tenant isolation, compliance alignment, and operational readiness before production adoption.
  • You will build and guide engineering solutions across Azure, Microsoft 365, Teams applications, Exchange extensibility, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Agent SDK, and Azure AI Foundry where applicable.
  • You will partner with product engineering, security, compliance, service operations, and business stakeholders to deliver Customer Zero feedback and improve enterprise service capabilities.
  • You will define platform standards for observability, troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis, automation, reliability, and supportability across multi-tenant environments.
  • You will use telemetry, network traces, protocol-level analysis, and operational signals to identify issues and drive improvements in service design and implementation.
  • You will mentor engineers and influence architecture decisions through design reviews, technical documentation, reusable patterns, and pragmatic governance.
  • You will identify opportunities to automate tenant management, access governance, platform administration, and operational workflows using Azure, PowerShell, APIs, and AI-assisted engineering approaches.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 9+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 services, Azure services, tenant administration, system administration, and operational troubleshooting in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing or reviewing application architectures involving Microsoft 365, Teams applications, Exchange extensibility, Power Platform, enterprise APIs, identity, and access management patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure architecture, cloud operations, automation, monitoring, service reliability, and secure engineering practices.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions using Microsoft Graph, Microsoft Entra ID, Dataverse, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Agent SDK, Azure AI Foundry, and Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility, including governance, DLP, identity integration, security, and compliance good practices.
  • Experience building solutions using Microsoft Graph APIs, PowerShell, automation frameworks, and cloud-native integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Agent SDK, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and agent-based solution architectures.
  • Understanding of messaging, collaboration, and connectivity protocols including SMTP, POP, IMAP, OAuth, HTTP, DNS, and network trace analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead architecture reviews, produce technical designs, perform incident analysis, and collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, security, and product teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and operating large-scale multi-tenant platforms with a focus on scalability, resiliency, observability, governance, and operational excellence.
  • Experience leading architecture reviews, defining technical standards, and driving platform modernization initiatives across multiple engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical strategy and build alignment across engineering, security, operations, compliance, and product organizations.
  • Experience partnering with product groups through Customer Zero programs, feature validation, early-adopter engagements, or enterprise technology adoption initiatives.
  • Microsoft or industry certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365 Administrator, Power Platform Solution Architect, or equivalent cloud architecture certifications.
