The CAIP Go-to-Market (GTM) team connects product, field, and customer needs – building and driving the end-to-end GTM plans that enables our field teams with programs and tools, technical guidance and sales resources to help customers become Frontier.
As a Business Architect for Modernization & Sovereignty in CAIP, you will lead global go-to-market (GTM) strategy initiatives across modernization and sovereignty priorities, driving growth across all customer segments. This role blends product strategy, partner ecosystem development, sales orchestration, enablement, operations, and marketing alignment.
You’ll serve as a strategic advisor to CAIP GTM leadership, translating priorities into execution, enabling operational excellence, and fostering a high-performing, inclusive team culture. This position offers visibility with senior leadership and the opportunity to shape how Microsoft delivers next-generation Cloud and AI experiences.
This role will be responsible for leading Microsoft's Sovereign and Modernization business architecture strategy, including Sovereign Cloud, Sovereign AI, Azure Local, growth planning, executive stakeholder alignment, field enablement, and cross-functional execution across Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and WWPS.
Candidates who live within 50 miles of Microsoft's Redmond campus will be required to work in the office 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities
• GTM Strategy & Execution: Develop and drive scalable GTM plans aligned with market trends, customer needs, and Microsoft priorities. Track OKRs/KPIs and lead cross-org initiatives.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Influence corporate and field teams to build consensus and momentum around GTM strategy.
• Sales Model Innovation: Define and orchestrate sales motions that accelerate pipeline velocity and customer success.
• Blueprint & Capacity Planning: Shape coverage models and resource allocation to optimize growth and efficiency.
• Incentives & Compensation: Design performance-driven incentive structures aligned with business goals.
• Customer & Partner Engagement: Represent GTM in executive forums, synthesize insights, and ensure unified messaging across teams.
• Operational Leadership: Manage headcount, budget, and vendor strategy in partnership with Finance and HR.
• Team Culture & Communications: Champion inclusion, collaboration, and clarity through internal communications and recognition programs.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in business consulting, sales, sales operations, information technology (IT), account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.
- 8+ years in business management, strategy, operations, sales and technical sales, or program leadership.
- Experience executing complex initiatives and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Experience in sales program development, budget management, and headcount planning.
- GTM experience with Microsoft’s Cloud and AI portfolio or similar enterprise tech platforms and solutions.
- Background in customer engagement programs, GTM strategy design and development, and/or business planning for enterprise products and services.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
- Willing to obtain a US Security Clearance, Top Secret preferred.
- Sovereignty and Public Sector Experience
Sales Strategy Enablement IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
