Are you ready to take your career to another level at Microsoft? At Microsoft Azure Security we are experiencing explosive growth and are looking for people who want to be part of that success. Azure is a major money maker, so when you join our team you will be working on high visibility projects with major impact on Microsoft’s bottom line.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team!
Our global customers are realizing the benefits of moving their services and applications onto the cloud. Their foremost concern is Security. Equifax, CapitalOne, Under Armour, Saks, Lord & Taylor breach, Facebook, Orbitz? Russian interference? The list gets longer every month. Not if we can help it. Security is a key component of our work but that’s not all we do. We are looking for people who can design and implement cloud scale platform services in these areas. These positions also involve developing distributed services at hyper scale and the mindset that comes with developing these services. A lot of innovation is happening in security at extreme cloud scale. Our team’s goal is to ensure that Azure Security is the most secure and resilient cloud platform with high development agility and operational efficiency.
This is a unique role that provides an opportunity to:
- Lead and build trusted computing infrastructure in Azure partnering with various organizations and companies.
- Work on cutting edge industry standard security technologies related to identity, access management, deployment integrity, and secrets protection.
- Architect and build critical ring0 cloud security services that scale to millions of nodes.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.
Responsibilities

You are working at the lowest layer of the Azure infrastructure. In our group, you and your work will be seen, appreciated, and rewarded.
We know it’s lonely at the top, so in addition to the excitement of working on new technologies, upward trajectory to your career, and compensation commensurate with your expertise and experience, we provide a close team-oriented environment with knowledgeable members who collaborate and engage in rapid experimentation and turnaround. In our group we ask questions and generate answers. Some of the questions we ask are “How do you develop services that compensate for 5% of the hardware being defect without generating a support call?” “How do we protect against widespread outage while rolling out a service that has a bug that was not discovered in testing?” If you like figuring out a conundrum and working in a cohesive group, join us at Azure Security.
We are looking for strong technical leaders who can design and implement security services for entire Azure infrastructure. This role requires a technically proficient, security minded engineer who wants to have broad impact across Azure and industry.
