CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities at scale. Our mission is to deliver the world's computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is supported by more than 300 datacenters around the world that enable services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries.
The Cloud Supply Chain Engineering (CSCP-E) group is a fast-growing engineering organization that plays a critical role in enabling Microsoft's cloud infrastructure. We build and support the software, data platforms, and operational systems that help power one of the world's largest cloud environments. Responsibilities
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality and system reliability issues through root cause analysis and scalable solutions.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable software systems that improve operational efficiency and support production workloads.
- Develop and integrate software components into distributed systems, solving complex technical challenges and delivering reliable end-to-end solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices to ensure software quality, reliability, and maintainability.
- Drive continuous improvement of existing systems and deliver new features and capabilities that address evolving customer, business, and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to drive alignment, deliver solutions, and achieve project objectives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain one, as applicable).
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing software solutions using C# and/or Python, with familiarity in source control systems (Git), data pipelines, and visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Experience with Azure Functions, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Kusto Query Language (KQL) for cloud-based application development and data analytics.
- Effective communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Experience with or familiarity with Azure cloud services and modern cloud-native development practices.
- Understanding of secure software design principles and best practices.
- Experience building and supporting distributed, scalable systems in cloud environments.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
