The Business Intelligence Lead within our business applications team is responsible for driving the Global Support organization's business intelligence, telemetry, and analytics capabilities, enabling data-driven decision-making across the business. The role leads the delivery and evolution of telemetry, reporting, and insight solutions that provide leadership and service delivery team with accurate, actionable intelligence to measure performance, optimise operations, and inform strategic investment decisions.

Working collaboratively across Product Management, Engineering, Support Operations, Finance, vendors, and business stakeholders, the role transforms complex data into meaningful business insights, ensures effective governance of strategic initiatives, and delivers measurable business value through continuous improvement, portfolio management, and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

Help Power the Digital Transformation

  • You will lead the development and execution of Global Support’s data strategy, ensuring data, telemetry, and analytics capabilities are AI ready, scalable, and aligned to business priorities and digital transformation objectives.
  • You will drive adoption of modern automation technologies, including Microsoft Fabric, PowerBI and AI capabilities, to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • You will design and implement scalable telemetry, reporting, and analytics capabilities that enable data-driven decision making.

Advocate for our Customers

  • You will translate stakeholder and business requirements into measurable business intelligence solutions that improve user experience and operational outcomes.
  • You will develop intuitive reporting, dashboards, and analytics that provide actionable insights for business leaders and operational teams.
  • You will partner with users throughout solution design and iteration, incorporating feedback to continuously improve functionality and adoption.
  • You will ensure telemetry accurately reflects customer journeys and identifies opportunities to improve service quality and user satisfaction.

Contribute to Modernizing MS Digital Employee Experience

  • You will develop intelligent digital experiences that simplify how employees access operational insights and business performance information.
  • You will integrate AI-enabled capabilities into business intelligence and operational workflows to improve productivity and decision making.
  • You will continuously improve reporting platforms through user feedback, performance analytics, and evolving business requirements.

Optimize IT

  • You will design and maintain scalable telemetry, reporting, and monitoring capabilities that improve operational visibility and service health.
  • You will develop automated workflows and integrations that improve reliability, reduce operational overhead, and optimise support processes.
  • You will establish governance, quality standards, and best practices for business intelligence & reporting.

Strengthen Business Partnership

  • You will partner with Product Management, Engineering, Support Operations, Finance, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver strategic business intelligence capabilities.
  • You will act as the bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring business objectives are translated into effective technical solutions.
  • You will facilitate stakeholder engagement to define priorities, validate requirements, and align delivery with strategic business outcomes.

Lead with Innovation Thinking

  • You will research and evaluate emerging business intelligence, analytics, AI, and low-code technologies to identify opportunities for continuous innovation.
  • You will prototype and rapidly iterate new analytics capabilities using stakeholder feedback and measurable business outcomes.

Support Market Advocacy

  • You will share best practices and success stories that demonstrate how data-driven insights improve operational performance and customer outcomes.
  • You will represent the organisation's business intelligence capability in cross-functional forums, contributing expertise that supports enterprise transformation.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in low-code application development, engineering product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, telemetry, reporting solutions, analytics engineering, or technical program management, or equivalent experience.
  • Technical skills: 4+ years working in Business Intelligence & Analytics including:
    • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Fabric
    • Power BI (semantic models, dashboards, DAX, Power Query, data modelling)
    • Azure Data Explorer (Kusto / KQL) for telemetry
    • SQL Server / Azure SQL
    • Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse, Lakehouse and ONeLake
    • Data visualization and storytelling best practices
    • Azure AI Foundry
    • AI-powered reporting and analytics
  • 2+ years of experience managing and configuring artificial intelligence solutions in a telemetry environment.
  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600)
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
  • Project management certification (e.g., Project Management Professional, Six Sigma).
