Overview

As an Account Executive – Healthcare Industry at Microsoft, you will serve as the primary business leader and trusted advisor for assigned healthcare customers, helping them achieve their strategic objectives through digital transformation initiatives powered by Microsoft technologies.

You will be responsible for developing and executing account strategies, building executive-level relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving customer outcomes across Microsoft’s solution portfolio. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare industry challenges, healthcare technology environments, and the ability to align Microsoft’s cloud, AI, data, security, and productivity solutions to customer business priorities.

The successful candidate will combine consultative selling skills, healthcare industry expertise, and strategic business acumen to help healthcare organizations modernize infrastructure, adopt cloud technologies, strengthen cybersecurity, improve workforce productivity, and accelerate AI-driven innovation.

This role is ideal for a senior industry seller with experience working with hospitals, healthcare providers, healthcare technology organizations, or healthcare ecosystem partners.



Responsibilities

Customer Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare executives, business decision makers, and technology leaders.
  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with hospital leadership, healthcare administrators, CIOs, IT leaders, and clinical stakeholders.
  • Understand customer business priorities, technology strategies, and organizational goals.
  • Lead executive-level conversations focused on business transformation, operational efficiency, innovation, cybersecurity, and AI adoption.

Account Management

  • Own and manage a portfolio of healthcare accounts.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned with customer priorities and Microsoft objectives.
  • Create long-term customer engagement strategies that support growth, retention, and customer success.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and business value realization.

Business Growth

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities across Microsoft's cloud, data, AI, security, and productivity solutions.
  • Achieve revenue, consumption, and customer success objectives.
  • Maintain pipeline health and forecasting accuracy.
  • Develop business cases and value propositions that align Microsoft capabilities with customer needs.

Digital Transformation Leadership

  • Help healthcare organizations accelerate digital transformation initiatives.
  • Support customers in modernizing infrastructure, applications, data platforms, and workplace collaboration environments.
  • Guide customers through cloud adoption, hybrid cloud transformation, AI innovation, and cybersecurity modernization journeys.
  • Identify opportunities to improve healthcare operations, research capabilities, workforce productivity, and patient services through technology.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Orchestrate virtual teams across Microsoft to deliver customer outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Solution Specialists, Cloud Solution Architects, Customer Success Account Managers, Partner teams, and Industry teams.
  • Leverage Microsoft and partner resources to accelerate customer success and business growth.
  • Foster effective collaboration across all stages of the customer lifecycle.


Qualifications

Healthcare Industry Experience

  • Experience working with healthcare providers, hospitals, medical centers, healthcare systems, healthcare technology companies, life sciences organizations, or public healthcare agencies.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, challenges, and digital transformation priorities.
  • Experience engaging healthcare executives and healthcare IT organizations.

Healthcare Information Systems Knowledge

Familiarity with healthcare information systems and operational environments, including:

  • Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR)
  • Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
  • Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
  • Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
  • Clinical, administrative, and research applications

Cloud and Infrastructure Transformation Experience

Experience supporting healthcare customers in one or more of the following areas:

  • Datacenter modernization
  • Infrastructure transformation
  • Hybrid cloud architecture
  • Cloud migration initiatives
  • Application modernization
  • Data platform modernization
  • Cybersecurity modernization
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery planning

Technology Experience

Experience selling, consulting, or supporting solutions related to:

  • Cloud Computing
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Data and Analytics
  • Cybersecurity
  • Digital Workplace Transformation
  • Enterprise Software Platforms

Experience with Microsoft technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365, Teams, Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI, and Microsoft Security solutions is highly desirable.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with healthcare system integrators, consulting firms, or healthcare ecosystem partners.
  • MBA, EMHA, Healthcare Informatics, Public Health, Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
