You will apply strong business, technical, and financial acumen to optimize operating performance while maintaining Microsoft’s standards for safety, security, quality, reliability, sustainability, and customer impact.

What Success Looks Like

  • Inventory accuracy, cycle count discipline, and asset accountability are consistently maintained across supported sites.
  • DBD handling, chain-of-custody, and compliance controls are executed with strong governance and audit readiness.
  • Logistics execution supports timely capacity delivery, effective sparing, and smooth handoffs across deployment, operations, and decommissioning activities.
  • Programs are implemented with clear playbooks, measurable adoption, field feedback loops, and sustained operational improvement.
  • Operational risks are proactively identified, escalated, and mitigated through data-led governance and cross-functional partnership.

Cross-Functional Partnership

The Senior Manager will work closely with Campus Directors, Data Center Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Finance, Leasing and Construction, Global Program teams, and regional leadership. Success requires strong stakeholder management, clear communication, disciplined governance, and the ability to translate global standards into practical, scalable execution across local operating environments.

  • Own ongoing program support to enable on-time delivery of customer capacity within committed service-level expectations.
  • Partner with Campus Directors and field operations leaders to ensure procedures are documented, consistently adopted, and supported by effective training.
  • Evaluate and optimize short- and long-term utilization across the data center fleet to improve efficiency, scalability, and operational resilience.
  • Establish communication channels and feedback loops between field operations and peer teams to incorporate lessons learned and improve execution.
  • Represent field operations requirements to ensure quality, reliability, availability, safety, and customer outcomes are consistently achieved.
  • Champion standardization, process maturity, and innovation across Inventory, Asset, DBD, and Logistics operations.
  • Lead escalation management by partnering with cross-functional teams to identify, resolve, and prevent issues that may impact service delivery.
  • Assess project scope, resource capacity, assumptions, and field readiness for programs and initiatives that impact data center operations.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships and enable sustainable change through clear communication, governance, engagement, and adoption planning.
