About the Company:

Worldcoin (www.worldcoin.org) is an open-source protocol, supported by a global community of developers, individuals, economists and technologists committed to expanding participation in, and access to, the global economy. Its community is united around core beliefs in the inherent worth and equality of every individual, the right to personal privacy, and open and public collaboration. These beliefs are reflected in what the community is building: a public utility to connect everyone to the global economy.

The Worldcoin Foundation (www.worldcoin.foundation) is the protocol’s steward and will support and grow the Worldcoin community until it becomes self-sufficient. Tools for Humanity (www.toolsforhumanity.com) is a global hardware and software development company. It helped launch Worldcoin and continues to provide support to the Foundation, in addition to operating the World App.

About the team:

The Data Science team is responsible for deriving data-driven insights to support Worldcoin’s key decisions. Because of our unique growth model of using a global network of Orb Operators to give a free share of Worldcoin to everyone on Earth, we require a high-performing Data Science team that is able to manage and analyze large amounts of data generated by our products and operations. Worldcoin’s privacy-maximizing approach imposes unique restrictions on how data is collected, stored, and used, making data science innovations critical to derive useful insights. We have earned a reputation for our technical expertise, hands-on approach, responsiveness, precision, and impactful solutions.

  • Lead in-depth statistical analyses (including causal inference) to derive insights that drive strategic decisions for individual departments (e.g., Product and Market Operations) and the whole company
  • Advise other teams (e.g., Economic Design, Product, Market Operations, Marketing) on the optimal design of field experiments (in particular experimentation for World App and for Worldcoin’s field operations)
  • Collaborate with the Blockchain team to analyze large amounts of transactional blockchain data
  • Lead the design and implementation of robust prediction algorithms

About You:

  • PhD in economics, econometrics, operations research, or similar
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in a data science role as an IC
  • 5+ years of management experience building and leading data teams

  • Extensive experience in statistics/econometrics (in particular causal inference)
  • Experience with designing and deploying experiments

  • Passionate about high-quality data visualizations that are accessible to non-experts, maintained with high attention to detail
  • Programming experience in SQL, Python, or similar programming languages
  • Experience in interfacing with data engineers to deploy and maintain data science applications
  • Experience with BI tools like Metabase, Tableau, Looker, or PowerBI
  • Skilled at managing cross-functional relationships and communicating with leadership across multiple teams
