In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it
Wave is now the largest financial institution in Senegal, with over 7 million users. And we’re still in the early days of our product roadmap and potential impact on people’s everyday lives.
We are looking for a Master Agent Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day leadership, strategic growth, and management of our master agent network. You will drive operational excellence and ensure our master agents deliver high-quality service across Mali.
In this role, you'll;
- Manage a roll-out plan for master agents.
- Lead the master agent team to grow a sustainable master agent network.
- Lead and deliver on all the projects related to master agents.
- Work with the team to ensure that master agents have all the supplies required.
- Build a strong relationship with master agents.
- Ensure that high-quality service is provided by the master agents' network.
- Overseeing the development of master agents and ensuring high-quality master agents.
- Providing management with feedback.
- Analyze the performance of the master agents' network and seek out improvement plans.
Key details
- Location is primarily based in Bamako with frequent travels in the upcountry.
- Work authorization in Mali required.
- This is a fixed-term position, 6 months contract.

Requirements
- 5 years of experience in sales and stakeholder management, in a similar role.
- Fluent in English - this role will interact regularly with non-French/Bambara speakers.
- Speaking both French and Bambara fluently will be a great advantage; another local language is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of our product and agent network, since the candidate will explain the product to agents and other stakeholders.
- Strong ethics, integrity, and ability to negotiate.
