In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it
As a People Operations Associate, reporting to the HR and Facilities Lead, you will be responsible for the efficient functioning of our Bamako office through various administrative, logistic, and office management tasks.
In this role, you'll:
- Manage all staff record maintenance.
- Coordinate and oversee administrative duties and logistics in the office, ensuring good working and living conditions and smooth office operations on a day-to-day basis.
- Oversee and support domestic and international travel, including flight, hotel, and car rental reservations.
- Deal with confidentiality with correspondence, complaints, and queries.
- Support the people operations team in sourcing and maintaining quality facilities for Wave.
- Monitor and manage the canteen and the vendors.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organized work environment in Support by planning deep cleaning and regular meetings with cleaners.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local service and resource providers.
- Follow up on bill payment for Mali facility utilities, including but not limited to office (electricity, water, canteen).
- Manage the vehicle fleet.
- Organize and execute company events in Mali.
- Coordinate office room bookings for meetings and training.
Key details
- Location: You'll work from our office in Bamako.
- Work authorization in Mali is required.
- This is a permanent position.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or professional training in business administration, human resources, or a related field.
- Fluent in French and a very good command of written and spoken English.
- Computer proficiency.
- 5 years experience in an administrative / office management / HR role.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize.
