Autonomous Test Support Technician

You will…
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the Waabi class 8 autonomous test fleet to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with vehicle mechanical systems, electrical components, sensors, and other vehicle systems.
- Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components or systems, adhering to Waabi developed work instructions, manufacturer guidelines, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with all teams to provide feedback on technical issues, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and assist in the development of new features or upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Provide technical support to truck operators on vehicle systems, operation procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in technology, and regulatory requirements related to autonomous and Class 8 vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
Support Waabi’s safety culture.
- Maintain test garage tools and supply inventory.
- Improve shop efficiency where needs arise, and support improvements in the fleet management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in automotive technology, electrical engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a technician or mechanic, preferably in the automotive, heavy-duty trucking, or technology industry. ASE certifications are highly desirable.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with truck maintenance and repair.
- Clean Driving record.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with automotive scan tool systems.
- Experience operation test vehicle in a closed course environment.
- Familiarity with autonomous driving technology, including sensors, cameras, GPS, and onboard computer systems, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment for vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel as needed.
- Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and adherence to protocols and procedures.
