SB Nation is looking for a Director, Network Development. The business mission of the Network Development team is to drive revenue by translating and crafting our sports editorial properties into impactful experiences for brands and consumers. With revenue as our #1 focus, we balance business requirements and audience experience.

Reporting into the General Manager at SB Nation, in this high-visibility internal and external facing role, your primary focus will be to drive network growth initiatives within our advertising business, connecting SB Nation editorial to partner marketing initiatives and analyzing key metrics to optimize advertising solutions. In addition, you’ll identify partnership opportunities to expand sellable opportunities offered by the sports editorial verticals within the network.

As SB Nation continues to grow in the different ways we reach and serve sports fans, this role requires a solutions-oriented individual who is able to flawlessly manage multiple work streams, all while balancing insights, data, and creativity to drive business growth.

  • Work closely with editorial leadership and revenue stakeholders to develop go-to-market strategies for editorial programs, partnerships, sponsorships and other tentpole moments, with the primary focus within our advertising business.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to measure, track, and analyze the performance of editorial content, sponsorship programs, and marketing campaigns to inform future decision making.
  • Help build brand and agency relationships where most relevant, in partnership with the sales team to grow and strengthen SB Nation’s business, including joining sales calls and meetings to pitch and sell through editorial programs.
  • Inspire and motivate national sales team, educating on Vox Media on offerings including pushing top priorities and distilling information into critical selling points.
  • Lead the creation of sales marketing collateral, with the ability to articulate positioning.
  • Contribute to in-bound RFP requests, priority client programs, and business-wide ad sales growth initiatives.
  • Oversee the post-sale execution of sponsorships and custom brand programs, driving process excellence, flawless execution, and client happiness.
  • Spearhead cross-functional team collaboration across Vox Media editorial teams.
  • Maintain a pulse on the media industry, understanding the needs and wants of the buying community.
  • Assist with quarterly business reviews, providing practical sales and client success insights.


  • 7+ years experience in ad sales/sponsorships
  • Deep knowledge of, and experience in media, digital publishing, advertising, integrated marketing, or another related field within the sports industry.
  • A passion for content-based digital media solutions with demonstrated ability to package and optimize monetizable elements across platforms (written edit, video, audio, social).
  • Aptitude for applying industry trends to content-based advertising solutions for partners.
  • A knack for storytelling and a creative eye, especially when developing briefs, brand positioning, and decks.
  • Comfortable working across the Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Google Slides or related presentation building software, and Asana
  • Highly effective presentation skills with proven ability to distill complex information into digestible insights for a variety of audiences.
  • A strong rolodex of prospective clients and partners.

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
