The Channel Marketing Manager will be responsible for all aspects of channel marketing in the Central Eastern Europe Region (including DACH, Eastern Europe, Switzerland & Alps). This role will report to the Manager, EMEA Channel Marketing.
The successful candidate will facilitate the planning and execution of channel marketing activities, including strategic account engagement programs (ABM), events, seminars, and digital campaigns delivered both to and through F5’s partner and distributor community. The Channel Marketing Manager will also assist with local field campaigns and events where necessary, supporting the Field Marketing Manager, Central Eastern Europe to ensure a complete field and channel marketing plan for the region.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to measure and report on campaign success against channel marketing KPIs and utilise data-driven insights to inform future planning.
This role covers three distinct regions, each with unique channel landscapes and partner ecosystems, so an ability to strategise and remain focused is required. Close collaboration with channel leadership and their channel account managers is essential, whilst ensuring that the organisation’s strategic channel marketing imperatives are also met. The Channel Marketing Manager will work with the business on the collaboration of individual channel marketing plans with each channel account manager, listen to requirements and suggestions, and will share feedback to HQ marketing teams.
A key part of this role will be the management of the regional marketing development fund (MDF) budget and ensuring end-to-end visibility of local marketing results; reporting on program effectiveness and conversion to leads/closed business, and ensuring results metrics are tied to partner investment.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Channel Marketing Manager is a key contributor to the regional channel sales organisation, with complete responsibility for the design and implementation of the regional channel marketing plan and supporting programmes. It offers the candidate significant opportunity to work at a senior level in a cross functional challenging role across the region.
Key deliverables :
- Responsible for the creation, execution, and performance reporting of F5’s regional channel marketing plans, detailing key initiatives and joint marketing campaigns developed in collaboration with regional partners and distributors
- Ownership of all planning discussions with marketing colleagues from regional partners; ensuring a thorough understanding of global campaigns-in-a-box and locally developed campaigns that can be leveraged across the region
- Provide marketing support to channel sales leadership and team throughout the region
- Understand the reporting processes within F5 and use data analytics to report on KPIs and marketing contribution to channel from partner activity and partner initiated opportunities
- Close liaison with local finance and legal teams to ensure compliance with fiscal and legal requirements and appropriate and considered management of MDF budget
- Manage Vistex MDF wallet loading and performance tracking
- Participate as an active member in team meetings and activities
- Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies
- Work alongside regional FMM and product specialist marketing teams where local language support is required to support region (~20% of focus)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Significant experience and a proven track record in channel marketing: planning, reporting and channel marketing development preferably in a high-tech industry (Security and/or Networking/Applications technology experience)
- Experience working across multiple countries and cultures within Central and Eastern Europe is highly desirable.
- Fluency in German is preferred but not essential
- Proven record of working closely with channel sales team and sales leadership
- Budgeting responsibility. Experience of planning with both Opex and Contra MDF
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally and cross-regionally
- First class organisation liaison skills and strong project management skills
- Good PC skills, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. An understanding of Tableau and Marketo would be valuable
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree in relevant field (Marketing, communications) or equivalent experience preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilise a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material
- Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends)
