Job Description

F5 is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Hardware Design Engineer III to join our Hardware Development Team. This position will be responsible for the design, development, and documentation of complex electrical hardware for high-performance electronic systems. You will collaborate closely with other hardware engineers as well as mechanical and manufacturing teams to ensure optimal design for performance, manufacturability, test, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold F5’s Business Code of Ethics and promptly report violations of the Code or other company policies.
  • Participate in the design of electrical hardware systems, including power distribution, signal integrity, and high-speed interfaces.
  • Develop and review electrical schematics for digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Assist with component selection, power budgets, and design constraints to meet system requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical design standards, EMI/EMC requirements, and thermal management considerations.
  • Perform design reviews for manufacturability, assembly, and test (DFM, DFA, DFT).
  • Generate and maintain all necessary documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and test plans.
  • Interface with suppliers and manufacturing partners to resolve technical issues and ensure quality.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Understand and comply with F5 internal processes and requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical hardware design for high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal systems.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and hardware design tools (e.g., Cadence, Altium, Mentor Graphics).
  • Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal considerations.
  • Experience with the following:
    • high-speed interfaces (DDR4/5, PCIe g5, or Ethernet 100G/ 400G/ 800G)
    • system-level integration.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with the following:
    • Intel x86 motherboard design
    • electrical design for Altera and Xilinx FPGAs
    • CPU VR power supply design
  • Experience with regulatory compliance (UL, CE, FCC) and reliability testing.
  • Proficient with Siemens (Mentor Graphics) Xpedition Enterprise

The annual base pay for this position is: $100,800.00 - $151,200.00
