Role Summary:

At F5, we are expanding our AI Security team and seeking a motivated and skilled Frontend Engineer to develop intuitive and efficient user interfaces for our AI-powered security web applications. In this critical role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality and user-centric solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Frontend Development

  • Build and maintain robust, efficient, and scalable web applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.

  • Develop and optimize frontend components, ensuring performance, usability, and accessibility standards are met.

Collaboration

  • Partner with backend engineers, data scientists, UX designers, and product managers to deliver seamless user-centered features.

  • Facilitate open and effective communication across teams to ensure alignment on development goals and requirements.

Architecture and Design

  • Design features and components that align with modern frontend architecture and design principles, including component-based systems and micro-frontend architecture.

  • Contribute to the development of design systems and reusable libraries to streamline frontend development processes.

Quality and Performance

  • Deliver high-quality UI elements with seamless functionality across devices and browsers.

  • Optimize web applications for speed, scalability, and performance, focusing on reducing size and enhancing responsiveness.

User Focus and Feedback

  • Implement feedback from end users and customers to enhance user experiences and achieve product goals.

  • Embrace a user-focused mindset to ensure solutions address real-world needs.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on evolving frontend standards, tools, and technologies, and contribute innovative ideas for improving current processes.

  • Proactively suggest and implement solutions to challenges, fostering an environment of continuous growth and improvement.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Frontend Engineer or Frontend Developer.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of frontend architecture and design patterns.

  • Strong expertise in the JavaScript language and ecosystem.

  • Working knowledge of CSS and CSS preprocessors such as Sass, SCSS, or Less.

  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript features (e.g., ES2015–ES2025).

  • Ability to debug and optimize browser performance, troubleshoot compatibility issues, and ensure cross-platform functionality.

  • Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript view libraries, such as Vue.js, React, or Svelte.

  • Familiarity with popular frontend tools such as Webpack, Vite, and CSS Modules.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Vue 3 and TypeScript.

  • Advanced knowledge of modern CSS features, including grid, flexbox, CSS variables, and animations.

  • Familiarity with mobile-first design, atomic design principles, and progressive enhancement for responsive applications.

  • Working knowledge of npm or Vite package managers, including publishing packages.

  • Understanding of emerging browser APIs and modern web technologies.

  • Knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch for translating design concepts into functional interfaces.

At F5’s AI Security team, we are strong believers in creating scalable and reusable solutions. As part of our team, you'll contribute to:

  • Component-based design and the development/maintenance of robust component libraries for reusable and modular functionality.

  • A cutting-edge technology stack, including Vue 3, TypeScript, Socket.IO, Pinia (state management), Storybook (components), npm workspaces, and Vite (build tools).

  • Advancing micro-frontend architecture and leveraging in-house tools and libraries to supercharge day-to-day work.
