Job Description
As F5 continues to transform from being a successful Hardware company to a Security and software Industry Leader, we need the ability to quickly commercialize new products to the market. The Commercial Model team is responsible for ensuring product readiness for commercialization, including Pricing, Packaging, License Enablement, Telemetry, and other monetization aspects. The License Enablement function specifically focuses on expediting this cycle by creating and maintaining a standardized approach to product licensing functions, aiming to streamline processes and eliminate disparity across different product lines and their markets.
About the Role
The role will work closely with other Product Managers to understand customer licensing challenges, define areas for optimization, and enhance the overall customer experience. You will collaborate with Engineering and Product Management (PM) leaders to drive the licensing roadmap, ensuring alignment with product features and broader business goals.
In addition, you will partner with Engineering to prioritize initiatives, driving technical implementation, and ensuring licensing systems align with product development. You will also work with IT to automate and streamline licensing processes, and collaborate with Finance and Commercial Models teams to integrate licensing models into pricing and billing systems.
Your responsibilities will include optimizing workflows for efficiency, maintaining up-to-date documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and troubleshooting licensing-related issues. You’ll also drive continuous improvements across departments to ensure a seamless licensing process.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own the process of defining, refining, and documenting product requirements, proactively sharing them across multiple stakeholder groups for insights and feedback; recommend appropriate decisions toward requirements refinement and facilitate educated trade-off decisions as needed.
- Promote product strategies and vision across teams and to stakeholders; collaborate and coordinate across organizations to identify and bring forward any questions regarding alignment on product management and release, including tradeoffs, adjustments, and improvements.
- Create scalable processes to gather and analyze customer experiences and insights, analyze and report on findings, and suggest a follow-on course of action.
- Identify and recommend success metrics and key results related to established business objectives that enable meaningful progress measurement throughout the product lifecycle.
- Influence product feature set and positioning strategies using data to improve customer experience and drive growth
- Develop and implement a product roadmap that balances innovation, customer needs, and technical feasibility
- Define Product features and KPIs close to the level of ready for execution for engineering
- Collaborate effectively with the Product Teams and across Engineering to support product release planning, schedules, and near and long-term roadmaps for your area of responsibility in alignment with all F5 Data product offerings.
- Integrate with organizational teams to build and maintain subject matter expertise
- Work with the shared Licensing team teams to scope, estimate, and plan the implementation of the product and coordinate its schedule with other deliverables.
- Participate in maintaining the appropriate level of transparency and education on current and future product plans for Executives, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and others with a need to know.
- Communicate and collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Solution Engineers, Sales, and our Executive team to discuss product design and implementation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 3+ years of Product Management experience
- Proven track record of crafting and evolving positive customer and partner experiences.
- Knowledgeable of technical processes, business strategies and marketing guidelines. Effectively establishes objectives across partner teams with a shared mindset, fostering open dialogue and collaboration.
- Data driven - uses methodologies, metrics, and analysis to assess performance against business goals. Demonstrated ability to understand basic technical concepts and negotiate feature/tech tradeoffs.
- Successfully communicates in a variety of settings, delivering messages in a manner that is broadly understandable at all levels; attentively listens and proactively encourages others to share diverse ideas and opinions.
- Experience leading cross-functional collaboration and end-to-end project management, including ability to lead multiple projects at a time and prioritize high impact activities
- Comfortable presenting succinctly to senior stakeholders and large audiences for demo etc
- Proven track record of creating customer-facing content that aligns to buying stages
- Self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment impacted by the evolving needs of a Network Hardware & SAAS business
- Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and deliver clear, actionable insights
- Demonstrated good business and technical judgment.
- Must be numerically facile with the ability to create new frameworks for data /information analysis, develop project plans and manage to timelines, and skillfully balance competing priorities and interests to meet business and financial objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering, or equivalent degree
- 3+ years of Product Management experience
- Experience using business productivity: JIRA, Microsoft Office products, Google docs, etc.
- Knowledge of networking concepts is a plus
