Business Operations Manager, People & Culture

About the Role:

The Business Operations Manager, People & Culture (P&C) is a pivotal role responsible for enhancing the operational effectiveness and strategic execution of our P&C organization. Reporting directly to the VP, People Strategy & Experience, you will act as a central coordination point for P&C, driving key operational functions including budget management, team engagement initiatives, and special projects. This role combines operational rigor with strategic support, acting as a key partner to the VP and ensuring the P&C team is well-equipped and organized to deliver on its commitments to the broader company. What You Will Do:

Budget Management & Financial Oversight:

  • Lead the annual budget planning process for the People & Culture organization in partnership with P&C leaders and Finance.

  • Manage and track the P&C budget throughout the year, providing regular reporting, variance analysis, and forecasting to the VP and P&C leadership.

  • Oversee vendor management and procurement processes for P&C related services and tools, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to budget.

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for cost optimization and resource allocation.

P&C Team Operations & Engagement:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute engaging and informative monthly global People & Culture team meetings, including agenda development, content sourcing, speaker coordination, logistics, and follow-up on action items.

  • Develop and implement internal culture initiatives and programs aimed at fostering a strong, collaborative, and positive work environment within the People & Culture team.

  • Support internal P&C communications, ensuring the team is informed about key priorities, changes, and successes.

Strategic Support for VP, People Strategy & Experience:

  • Act as a key strategic partner and chief of staff to the VP, People Strategy & Experience.

  • Assist the VP in preparing for key meetings, developing presentations, drafting communications, and tracking progress against strategic priorities.

  • Manage the VP’s strategic calendar, ensuring effective time allocation for key initiatives and stakeholder engagement.

  • Facilitate P&C leadership meetings, including agenda setting, note-taking, and action item tracking.

  • Provide analytical support and insights to inform strategic decision-making.

Special Projects & Initiative Management:

  • Lead and manage a variety of special projects for the People & Culture organization, from initial scoping and planning through to execution and delivery.

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders within P&C and across the company to drive project success.

  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to the VP and relevant stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence:

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness within the P&C organization.

  • Develop, document, and implement streamlined processes, best practices, and standard operating procedures.

  • Support the implementation and optimization of P&C tools and technologies.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5-7 years of experience in a business operations, project management, chief of staff, or similar role, ideally with experience supporting an HR or People & Culture function.

  • Proven experience in budget management, financial analysis, and forecasting.

  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and drive them to successful completion.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and impactful messages for various audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and project management software/tools.

  • A proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented mindset.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, global technology company or similar dynamic environment.

  • Familiarity with HR systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS) and financial planning tools.

  • Experience in change management or internal communications.

  • PMP or other relevant project management certification.

The annual base pay for this position is: $148,130.00 - $222,194.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business.
