Position Summary:

F5 is looking for a high-impact Senior Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) to lead technical content development, product evangelism, and enablement initiatives for our cutting-edge portfolio, including BIG-IP, NGINX, and F5 Distributed Cloud (XC). This role blends hands-on technical expertise with creative storytelling to translate complex solutions in application delivery, security, automation, and AI into engaging content for customers, partners, and the field.

As a Senior TME, you will proactively learn and master F5 technologies with minimal supervision, rapidly execute on enablement deliverables, and develop compelling technical assets that accelerate adoption. You will take ownership of virtual and hardware lab environments, collaborate across functions, and drive initiatives that position F5 as a leader in modern application and security infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Development & Enablement

  • Design and implement robust lab environments (hardware-based and virtual) for real-world customer scenarios and field use cases.
  • Create and maintain demo kits, sample configurations, and enablement playbooks focused on application delivery, WAF, API security, Zero Trust, and AI-driven insights.
  • Partner with Engineering, PM, and Field teams to capture customer use cases and build reusable technical assets.

Technical Content Creation

  • Author and publish deep-dive technical content, including configuration guides, solution briefs, demo videos, and blog posts.
  • Present technical sessions at customer briefings, partner workshops, events, and analyst engagements.
  • Deliver content that resonates with both technical and executive audiences.

Automation & Innovation

  • Build automated and scalable test/demo frameworks using Python, Terraform, Ansible, and other DevOps tools.
  • Integrate telemetry, observability, and AI/ML insights into technical demonstrations where applicable.
  • Contribute to CI/CD enablement, security validation workflows, and cloud-native integrations.

Field Engagement & Advocacy

  • Act as a trusted technical voice in field enablement activities, webinars, customer calls, and competitive conversations.
  • Capture field feedback and align enablement content with customer priorities and product roadmap.
  • Drive technical positioning and evangelize F5’s differentiated value across application and security domains.

Required Qualifications & Competencies:

  • 8+ years in technical marketing, solution engineering, or QA roles in networking, cloud infrastructure, or security domains.
  • Proven hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP, NGINX, Distributed Cloud (XC), or similar technologies.
  • Deep understanding of L2-L7 protocols, traffic steering, API security, DNS/SSL, and Zero Trust architectures.
  • Hands-on with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and comfortable in hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Python scripting, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with OWASP API Security, web threats, and modern application design patterns.
  • Experience with virtualization and container orchestration technologies such as VMware, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and testbed/lab setup at scale.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills; capable of translating technical details into business outcomes.

  • Proactively executes and delivers compelling content that drives adoption and positions F5 for success in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience contributing to technical blogs, developer communities, or open-source projects.
  • Previous experience in customer-facing roles such as sales engineer, professional services, solution consultant, solution engineer, quality assurance engineer, support engineer, or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree a plus.

The annual base pay for this position is: $145,138.00 - $217,708.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business.
