The XC Business Unit at F5 is searching for an outstanding and experienced Senior Software Engineer for our Platform Engineering engineers based out of a few locations in India. On our team, you will have a major hand in the design and development of the data path modules of our distributed cloud offering.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Testing
Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual test strategies for data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integrations.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across various data sources and transformations.
Develop robust data validation frameworks to identify anomalies and inconsistencies.
Implement performance testing strategies to optimize data processing efficiency.
Test Automation & CI/CD
Build scalable test automation frameworks for data processing workflows, APIs, and distributed systems.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, reliable deployments.
Define and maintain best practices for test automation within data engineering teams.
Data Governance & Compliance
Enforce data quality standards, data governance policies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure proper data lineage, logging, and monitoring.
Conduct audits to validate data security, privacy, and access control policies.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to understand data requirements and test cases.
Drive best practices for data quality and testing methodologies within the engineering organization.
Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Monitoring & Incident Management
Develop proactive monitoring strategies to detect data issues before they impact business processes.
Investigate and troubleshoot data quality issues, providing root cause analysis and resolution
Define SLAs for data reliability and ensure adherence through automated alerting and logging.
Skills and Experience:
Background as a software engineer is critical along with familiarity with the full tech stack for backend platform engineering. Prior experience with cloud technology and networking, load balancers, routing platforms, control plane, SDN, docker, kubernetes, public cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) etc.
Specialist in various software architectures such as distributed systems and microservices
Define software automation objections (a.k.a software rules)
Create high quality product designs at the initial stages of Development Engineering operations.
Experience with modern CI/CD concepts (continuous integration and delivery, project management, reporting tools, Git, CI/CD tools, etc.)
Qualifications:
5+ years of QA in data platform/systems
10+ years in technology overall
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience
