Overview

The Data Governance Engineer is responsible for the overall availability and usability of the NGINX data. Aspects of this role include:

  • In collaboration with the program manager, guiding the data documentation and cataloguing of NGINX data
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of a data governance process, and representing the Data team in those activities
  • Contributing to the design and build of the data layer(s) for the NGINX product telemetry
  • Designing and implementing the transformations, quality checks, and pipelines for populating the data models
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of the curations and transformations required for product and business analyses
  • Collaborating with the data scientists and analysts to build modeling and analytics pipelines

Desired Skills

  • Experienced in data cataloguing and lineage, and in working with data stewards to maintain these assets
  • Experience working within a data governance framework and managing data priorities across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong SQL/NoSQL background; ability to develop complex queries, CTEs, views and optimize for performance
  • Strong Python development skills
  • Experience in data architecture and data modeling for analytics
  • Experience designing data flows, pipelines, and data quality and observability systems
  • Knowledge of data quality monitoring – able to incorporate into data flows
  • Strong communication and collaboration

Bonus:

  • Experience with dbt, Atlan, AWS, and Snowflake
  • Experience with Tableau or other visualization tools
  • Experience with telemetry data
  • Experience with ML data requirements

The annual base pay for this position is: $114,399.00 - $171,599.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
