Role Summary
We are seeking a Director of Identity and Access Management in our Technology Services (TS) organization. This is a key leadership role responsible for developing and managing the identity and access management (IAM) engineering and operations and leading a team of IAM professionals. Key responsibilities include overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of IAM systems, including single sign-on (SSO), Privileged Endpoint Management (PEM), and Privileged Access Management (PAM), ensuring high availability and security of these systems, and identifying and mitigating risks related to identity and access management. The role also requires staying updated on the latest IAM trends and technologies, continuously improving IAM processes, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will partner with key stakeholders throughout the organization to drive business growth and cultivate a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and ongoing improvement.
What you’ll do
- Develop, implement and maintain our IAM strategy, policies and standards for user and non-human identities and access privileges based on the evolving threat landscape.
- Lead a team of IAM engineers responsible for Single Sign On, Access Operations, Identity Lifecycle Management, Privileged Endpoint Management, Access Governance and Privileged Access Management.
- Maintain strong operational security monitoring health through active monitoring of service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Partner with peers across the Cybersecurity and Technology Services organizations to ensure alignment of cybersecurity objectives with business goals.
- Consult with architecture to ensure right tooling and processes are used to deliver IAM solutions
- Partner with business stakeholders to streamline and automate IAM processes to enhance efficiency and user experience.
- Ensure compliance with SOX audit requirements through regular assessments and audits of identity and access management (IAM) systems and processes, maintaining rigorous documentation and controls.
- Handle external vendor relationships to ensure that service levels are being met
- Stay informed about emerging IAM technologies, trends, and best practices to continually improve the organization's IAM capabilities.
- Align with solution owners, managers, engineering directors and leadership to ensure workstream talent needs are addressed and proactively planned for.
- Provide staffing inputs for feature breakdown, conceptual architecture, and business case planning during intake.
- Co-ordinate large cross team release plans.
- Be a trusted advisor and mentor to employees, offering guidance on career planning, goal setting, and skill enhancement.
- Conduct regular talent management practices, leaning into the continuous development of employees’ skills, interests, and aspirations to identify opportunities for advancement.
- Create a positive and supportive learning-oriented environment that encourages employees to develop new skills, acquire knowledge, and explore career pathways.
- Promote knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration among team members to enhance their professional development.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and HR to establish a roadmap for career growth initiatives, including training programs, mentorship opportunities, and performance feedback mechanisms.

What you’ll bring
- Proven expertise in IAM technologies and protocols, including Single Sign-On (SSO), Privileged Endpoint Management (PEM), and Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) using technologies like Okta, Azure AD, SailPoint or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute IAM strategies aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in conducting and managing SOX audit compliance related to IAM systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in recruiting, mentoring, and developing IAM professionals.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends and advancements in IAM technologies and methodologies.
- Excellent coach/mentor skills
- Comfortable leading and participating in cross enterprise initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience building and leading technical teams.
- Exceptional social, planning, documentation, and organization skills.
- Excellent communication (fluency in English language) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with solution owners, engineering directors and other key stakeholders.
- Knowledge & experience across the whole spectrum of IT-related functions.
- Use of ITSM standards and standard methodology for implementation in an IT environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Have a strong understanding of software development life cycle and agile principles.
- Willingness to handle global teams and cross geography reporting teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering, or equivalent software engineering work experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in identity and access management (IAM), with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- 5+ years of experience in managing large geographically distributed teams.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM), or similar are highly desirable.
- No restrictions on the ability to travel to domestic & international locations.
