Senior Manager, Product Marketing

Position Summary

Are you a broad thinking product marketing leader that likes to take a strong portfolio of products and weave a powerful, compelling story with them? At F5 and our NGINX division – as well as across the company – we have the most complete suite of application delivery and security products.

This role will be responsible for leading a seasoned team of Product Marketing professionals, overseeing all NGINX go-to-market activities, including messaging, content creation, field/channel enablement, analyst engagements, event support, and evangelism.

It requires excellent communication skills in prose and presentation formats, as well as marketing execution and business analysis skills with a consistent record of efficiently promoting technology products and solutions.

You will also need strong leadership and project coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Sales, Corporate Marketing, and Business Development, to lead and execute on a wide variety of Product Marketing initiatives. Demonstrated ability in developing customer and sales-facing presentations and other materials, including sales playbooks, white papers, website material, blogs, social media posts, videos, and written communications to employees and external partners, will enable your success!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead all NGINX go-to-market initiatives
  • Interface directly with the NGINX General Manager to understand the product strategy, roadmap, and priorities
  • Grow market insight, and obtain industry knowledge to successfully position + message NGINX commercial and open-source offerings
  • Research and know your competition, and efficiently communicate how to optimally position NGINX
  • Create product positioning and messaging that differentiates NGINX
  • Develop and implement go-to-market plans in coordination with cross-functional team including corporate marketing, sales/channel readiness, and BD teams
  • Enable sales and channel teams by communicating the NGINX value proposition and developing sales tools for use in selling motions
  • Drive releases by developing launch plans for new products and services and handling the cross-functional implementation
  • Produce product collateral such as sales, customer, and analyst presentations, product datasheets, FAQs, sales playbooks, and webpages
  • Contribute to demand generation efforts by delivering product content and participating in activities for the marketing programs that drive demand for F5 app security products
  • Engage sales, channel, and customers via webcasts, direct meetings, marketing communications, and industry events to drive interest, and lead generation
  • Educate and support engagements with industry press and trade analysts

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working in a global product marketing role in either a business unit, product line or central product marketing team
  • Great teamwork and interpersonal skills, working across global teams and organizations in an often-virtual environment
  • Solid understanding of enterprise product marketing, solution marketing and selling motions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical and execution skills
  • Knowledge of security technologies is a plus; knowledge of enterprise infrastructure is required
  • Strong aptitude for determining optimal ways to analyze markets and position technology products
  • May require the ability to travel via up to 20%

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing or Engineering or equivalent experience required. MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in a product marketing leadership position
  • 2- 4+ years analyzing products, customers and market dynamics
  • 2+ years managing teams of product marketing managers

The annual base pay for this position is: $165,770.00 - $248,656.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
