We are currently searching for an Editorial Director to join the Worldwide Marketing team in our Seattle headquarters who will assist the Creative Director in running the creative operation with a focus on functional discipline and overall creative impact.

Position Summary

As Editorial Director on the Worldwide Marketing team, you will bring strategy and expertise in all aspects of content and messaging work. You will make all creative content decisions based on best practices, time constraints, research insights, and F5 business needs. You will own the content assets, ensuring they are organized, findable, and up to date. You will own brand, creative, and content style guidelines, ensuring they are findable and up to date. You will always exhibit a strong growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement. Your success in this role will be measured by delivering high-quality creative projects that strengthen the brand, support marketing efforts, drive business results, and contribute to the company's overall growth.

You will:

  • Work with a high degree of autonomy in managing agency relationships and projects, taking initiative, making decisions, and solving problems independently when necessary
  • Ensure content and messaging align with F5’s brand voice and quality standards, working closely with agencies to align and deliver unified creative solutions
  • Convincingly articulate the benefits of F5’s products/solutions in a relatable, relevant way that resonates with our various audiences
  • Contribute to the development of creative strategies that support the company’s marketing and communication goals
  • Ensure briefs have the right elements to communicate strategic objectives and executional priorities so agencies can deliver work on target and on brand
  • Partner closely with campaign strategists, brand strategists, program managers, creative partnership managers, art directors, and subject matter experts to help guide the creation of assets for marketing initiatives
  • Review and approve agency creative, ensuring it meets brand standards and stakeholder needs and expectations
  • Provide training and support to agency teams
  • Uphold F5’s Business Code of Ethics and promptly report violations of the Code or other company policies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Your knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of creative content best practices
  • In-depth knowledge of brand management and development
  • Understanding of marketing strategies and their impact on business results and ability to balance creative decisions with business objectives
  • Curiosity and willingness to explore, ideate, and experiment
  • Strong business communications skills and the ability to comfortably and professionally interact at all levels of the organization
  • Customer empathy and focus, applying design thinking principles, and optimizing customer experiences and conversion with data-driven design decisions
  • Ability to make thoughtful decisions quickly, simplifying wherever possible
  • Talent for fostering strong internal and external partnerships
  • Strong growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced marketing environment
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to organize and deliver projects on time with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
  • Able to keep all projects on track and communicate project status with manager and team
  • A self-starter, able to seize opportunities, and stretch abilities with minimal direction
  • Experience with B2B in the tech industry is preferred

You have:

  • Track record of success driving storytelling for a brand or product with meaningful results in the market
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in B2B marketing writing/editing, and brand-forward storytelling
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, journalism, business, or equivalent is required
  • Certificate in professional editing preferred

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $118,960.00 - $178,440.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
