We are looking for a unique individual with the leadership skills, intellect, relevant professional experience, and track record of success to assume the position of Director of Sales. The Director of Sales is responsible for managing all sales personnel within the sales specialist segment including Sales Engineering and Major Account Managers. They will oversee staffing, training, and day-to-day management, and be responsible for sales goals/quotas, budgets, and districts within the segment.

The Director's task over the next three plus years is to continually increase F5’s market share in the US segment and move the business towards a subscription and SaaS model. Expectations are to significantly grow the business on both a quarterly and annual basis.

Our new Director will be an outgoing, customer facing executive who understands that F5’s business is based on creating value for our customers. They will focus on understanding what more F5 can do for our customers and will insist on high degrees of customer satisfaction from everyone in their organization. They will have experience in high touch strategic/consultative sales direct to the enterprise and will have a proven track record of success selling application delivery, application security, software subscriptions, and SaaS solutions to Fortune 500 customers. This role, under the guidance of the VP of North American Sales, will develop the sales strategy for the segment and execute against the sales plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Exceed sales forecasts, paying particular attention to growth in strategic product and customer sectors.
  • Inspire sales teams to new levels of attainment.
  • Act as a change agent, embracing new buying vehicles including subscriptions and SaaS models.
  • Elevate frontline managers to new levels of performance through regular and timely coaching.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with key enterprise customers, channel partners, and other industry leaders, monitoring all metrics and assuring the team meets both sales and strategic goals.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a worldclass, diverse sales team.
  • Engage in key customer and channel opportunities and assist with the sales cycle in support of the company’s sales strategy.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales in accordance with company policy.
  • Report to the Senior Vice President, North America Sales.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • An impressive record of achievement as a sales leader focused on selling solutions and software to the Fortune 500 segment, including experience selling with multiple channels and integrators. In-depth knowledge of the Fortune 500 marketplace is required.
  • A proven background in a senior-level sales management role with a respected company.
  • Proven success in working in a very fast paced and pressure filled environment.
  • History of repeatedly achieving and exceeding quotas in excess of $50M.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Reputation for inspiring, coaching, integrity, honesty, candor, fairness, and discretion.
  • A history of providing the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior towards both customers and employees.
  • Willingness and ability to travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years of experience selling application delivery and application security through their entire lifecycle, across multi-cloud environments to Fortune 1000 enterprise customers.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience managing successful teams that make the annual plan and drive new selling motions including subscriptions, ELAs, SaaS, and both legacy and modern application selling success

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $173,710.00 - $260,564.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business.
