Summary The program manager facilitates getting work delivered within a value stream. They help facilitate the intake and work breakdown of epics into features, coordinate across the value stream to scope work, and identify and work issues, risks, and dependencies. They partner with the portfolio manager to ensure business objectives, milestones, and outcomes are tracked and achieved. The program manager has excellent interpersonal skills, strength working cross functionally, with the ability to influence and facilitate others to solve business problems and deliver. Program Managers are an escalation point on risks, issues, and decisions. The position requires a unique blend of business and technical savviness: a bigpicture vision, the drive to make that vision a reality, and technical credibility to engage and drive work with software engineers.

What You’ll Do

• Communicates and collaborates across the value stream to facilitate the intake and work breakdown.

• Facilitate cross-functional engineering teams to solve business problems and deliver solutions • Own LOE estimation of epics, with input from teammates to inform business case development

• Coordinate with the Solution Architect to understand high-level designs, and systems impacted

• Own feature estimation and high-level capacity alignment with the workstream(s)

• Work with the Value Stream Lead to determine capacity allocation and WIP limits

• Ensure coordination across all workstreams within their value stream and ensure tight coordination of crossworkstream interdependencies

• Serve as escalation point for SOs to assist cross-workstream issues and risks

• Accountable for release planning and coordination, working in collaboration with SOs, SREs, and other teammates as needed

• Own facilitation of planning and ROB activities, including Scrum of Scrums for the Solution Owner (SO)

• Bring business and technical savviness, including a big-picture vision, the drive to make that vision a reality, and technical credibility to engage with software engineers

• Develop strong relationships to engage, align, and empower people to deliver

• Develop, report, and continually improve performance metrics

• Demonstrate ownership and autonomy and drive delivery of high-quality results

• Build strategies for issue and risk mitigation and contingency planning

• Support the development of high-performing global teams

• Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

What You’ll Bring

• Have excellent communicated program progress to program stakeholders and executive-level leaders, including engaging in difficult conversations.

• Have effectively led and facilitated strategic planning and road mapping sessions with senior stakeholders.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering complex programs including CRM or Salesforce.

• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Ability to develop strong working relationships to engage, align, and motivate people to deliver.

• Ability to bridge the gap between Product, Engineering, and Architecture groups to facilitate solutions.

• Understand the importance of building strong working relationships
• Strong organizational, presentation, and customer first focus.

• Ability to quickly master technical concepts

• Strong facilitator and enabling crossfuctional teams.

• Complex problem solver.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field

• 5+ years’ experience in Technical Program, IT, and/or project management

• 5+ years of experience software delivery.

• Experience leading a geo-dispersed team

• Experience working in a concurrent software development environment as part of a complex build and merge management process

• Technology product development experience is highly desired

• Experience establishing and leading high-complexity, high-visibility programs with multiple departmental stakeholders, partners, business units

• Experience guiding program execution to deliver toward desired business outcomes

• Experience conducting advanced, fact-based analyses to identify trends, variances, and issues

• Have built trust and leveraged influence to shape and drive stakeholder expectations (including at the executive level)

• Knowledge of, and experience with, the following tools;

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Sheets)

• Agile Tools (e.g. Azure Dev Ops, Kanban Boards, Trello, Jira, Rally, etc.)

• Demonstrated experience using Agile development methodologies
