POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate Strategy team at F5 seeks an exceptional professional to help define the company’s long-term strategic direction. The Director of Corporate Strategy will be critical in formulating strategy, evaluating and analyzing business opportunities, and coordinating efforts across the company. This individual will work closely with a small, high-impact team, driving multiple high-priority business projects. The individual will lead critical projects and help coordinate company-wide activities, from strategic growth initiatives to operational excellence programs. The role requires close interaction with senior executives throughout the company. This person will, therefore, have a significant opportunity to impact the growth, direction, and future of F5.

Resonsibilities

  • Leads small-to-medium individual or cross-functional teams to develop a fact and set of recommendations to provide into a strategic question or business problem
  • Apply an 80/20 approach to create structured models leveraging data from across sources (e.g., Capital IQ, 3rd party analyst insights, survey data)
  • Use appropriate storylining and storytelling techniques to communicate recommendations or insights to an identified audience (e.g., the Board, the CEO or Executive Leadership team, or a broad set of employees)
  • Apply business expertise to synthesize findings to develop strategic recommendations
  • Proactively identify and manage the impact of insights to the broader organization, including the development and presentation of a strategic point of view, goals, and proposed outcomes
  • Facilitate large-scale meetings and workshops, including preparation and driving tangible outcomes
  • Assist senior business executives in framing, evaluating, and executing against strategic options

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience identifying, evaluating, and analyzing critical strategic questions and business situations
  • Prior experience of 4-6 years in management consulting or corporate strategy required
  • Record of sound business judgment across a range of business models and strategies
  • Thinks creatively about problem-solving and is comfortable with financial analysis
  • Highly focused on execution and delivering high-quality, synthesized analysis
  • Ability to develop quantitative financial models to deliver business insights
  • Experience leading and coordinating virtual teams to solve business problems
  • Experience working across multiple business units or functions to drive consensus
  • MBA, or demonstrated equivalent; engineering degree a plus
  • Effectively manage and prioritize multiple work streams through collaboration within the Business Strategy team and across the organization
  • Demonstrates leadership and the ability to influence by initiating partnerships that promote organizational objectives and change

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enthusiasm to learn the ins and outs of Multi-Cloud and Cybersecurity to deploy and secure any App or API everywhere
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • High energy, positive attitude, self-starter, and motivated
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Personal solid presence, comfortable interacting with senior business leaders
  • Team player able to effortlessly lead virtual teams
  • Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Skills

  • Modeling with Excel, Alteryx, or programming language
  • Communications: Storylining and Storytelling in PowerPoint with Think-cell or 6-page narratives
  • Deep structured interviews

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $188,530.00 - $282,796.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
