Position Summary:
F5 is looking for a PR professional with deep media relations and storytelling experience to lead external communications. This senior leader will be responsible for the development and execution of a communications strategy that elevates F5’s brand in the industry, drives awareness of our products and solutions, and shifts perceptions with current and future customers.
In this high-impact role, you will partner closely with leaders across the company to support our long-term strategy and go-to-market priorities. Whether you're coaching our CEO for a CNBC interview or shaping the launch narrative for our next groundbreaking product, your work will resonate across the industry, creating impact in the market and within our customer base.
Your ability to navigate cross-functional initiatives within a complex organization will be a key asset. This role demands the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and a flexible, results-driven approach to problem-solving. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are critical, as is your capacity to influence people at all organizational levels.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the team responsible for our thought leadership program, global F5 news, corporate, product, and partner announcements, and the Corporate Blog.
Set global storytelling priorities, drive earned media strategy, and manage executive platforms in partnership with the Executive Communications Director.
Support F5’s go-to-market priorities in partnership with other marketing leaders through aligned messaging and storytelling efforts across owned and earned channels.
Manage F5’s global agency of record to drive earned media engagement across business, tech, local, and vertical press.
Own measurement, analysis, and reporting of communications results to key stakeholders as part of the regular business review cadence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to create clear and concise communications in the right voice that distills information into compelling, memorable messaging.
Can collaborate effectively within a team and work independently across organizational boundaries with multiple business partners, cross-group project teams, virtual and global teams, vendors, and agency partners.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while multitasking, re-prioritizing projects, and communicating priority updates to stakeholders.
Experience working with C-level executives and expertise in influencing and advising employees at all levels on communication strategies.
Keen understanding of social media and its role in brand awareness and PR with the ability to apply social media tactics.
Strong business acumen; ability to translate business goals to communication campaigns and tactics.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Business or a related field.
Minimum of 12 years of relevant PR experience, preferably in enterprise technology and/or cybersecurity.
The candidate must be a proven communicator with a successful track record in the technology market.
Demonstrated success in implementing media campaigns (including social media) and securing coverage in various outlet types.
Track record of developing successful working relationships with reporters and other influencers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require utilizing a computer, communicating over the telephone, and reading printed material.
Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal hours (evenings and weekends).
Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 10% of the time spent traveling.

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $177,200.00 - $265,800.00F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
