Our Opportunity:

Our EMEA Technical Training team delivers F5’s technical training courses to F5's customers, partners and employees in the use of complex situations for all current F5 products in both classroom lectures and laboratory sessions. Our role will provide opportunities to engage with our customers and work in partnership across internal teams to develop specifications for content of courses; you will be able to create and deliver additional course material where necessary. Our team collaborates on delivery and development techniques and contributes to the team’s certification preparation.

Day to Day:

  • Set up and configure the vital equipment and networks to support our high standards of training course delivery.

  • Support and coach other team members in developing their product delivery capabilities and certification.

  • Partner with external and internal resources in developing and customizing standard curriculum to meet specific needs.

  • Show judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining course objectives and desired outcomes. Able to document and detail teaching strategies and methodologies.

  • Prepare training materials from engineering documentation, field services requirements or software documentation.

  • Develop our F5 courseware often from scratch on new products or features.

  • Collaborate closely with our US development team in courseware creation and feedback.

What you will bring to our team:

  • BS in engineering or equivalent working experience.

  • Relevant training experience in a technical classroom environment.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • A technical understanding of routers, switches, bridges and firewalls.

  • Previous experience working and teaching in UNIX and Microsoft (95, 98, 2000, XP)

  • Excellent skills with TCP/IP including the debugging of all traffic on the wire.

  • A passion for teaching, in particular advanced concepts and to debug difficult network configurations at a customer site.

  • In depth knowledge of network, web and browser security including a practical knowledge of SSL, DoS, WAFs, SSO and deployment issues.

  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office especially PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Capability to attain Certification in LTM, ASM, APM and GTM (DNS from v12 onwards) within 2 years.

  • Certification in Cisco products and/or Microsoft products at a technical trainer level is a plus.

  • Some experience in developing courseware, delivering new courses and amending them as and when required.

  • Language skills would be an advantage, with German language obligatory.

Our Work Environment:

Job may be performed in F5 training rooms, onsite at customer facilities, or in other office environments. There will be regular use of a computer keyboard, communicate in person and over the telephone, and read printed material. In the future, we anticipate some travel via automobile and airplane approximately up to 20% of the time. This job will require an ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
