Vicarious Surgical is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Waltham, MA. This role will be tasked with daily operational excellence, drive initiatives to develop new and optimize existing manufacturing processes and facilitate smooth transitions through the new product development process. The team is a collaborative group that connects all departments. You will interact with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams. To be considered, you must be available for 6 months and be local to Waltham, MA.

Team Focus

As part of the Operations Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team, you will focus on daily operational excellence, drive initiatives to develop new and optimize existing manufacturing processes and facilitate smooth transitions through the new product development process. The team is a collaborative group that connects all departments. You will interact with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.

Project Work

  • Develop, iterate and optimize manufacturing work instructions and standard operating procedures for Vicarious Surgical’s electromechanical capital and single use products
  • Assist in the design, construction and validation of manufacturing assembly and test equipment
  • Contribute on product teams supporting Design for Manufacturing (DFM) elements and ensuring process capabilities meet targets for all design specifications
  • Assemble electro-mechanical components. Conduct basic product testing.
  • Support our assembly, inspection , supply chain, shop organization and more
  • Support document control with processing data records
  • Design, develop, and release templates for product development testing, manufacturing, and inspections

About You

  • Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate program in Engineering
  • Competent with use of Google workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to quickly learn business related software including NetSuite, MasterControl, etc.
  • Well-organized with a right first-time approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to write simple reports and business correspondence.
