Position Overview:
The Assistant Buyer supports day‑to‑day purchasing activities to ensure timely availability of materials and services required for production. This role focuses on purchase order execution, supplier coordination, and data accuracy while developing foundational skills in sourcing, supply planning, and supplier management. Operating in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, the Assistant Buyer works closely with Senior Buyers, Planning, Engineering, and Operations to support uninterrupted production and cost‑effective purchasing decisions.
Responsibilities
- Execute purchase orders for assigned materials and services in accordance with demand and lead‑time requirements
- Monitor open POs and follow up with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery
- Support supplier communication regarding pricing, order status, and delivery schedules
- Assist with resolving delivery, quantity, and invoice discrepancies
- Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP/MRP systems (pricing, lead times, MOQ)
- Support inventory management by aligning purchases with production plans
- Assist Senior Buyers with sourcing activities, supplier evaluations, and RFQs
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing processes
- Generate basic reports related to spend, delivery performance, and inventory as needed
Qualifications
- Required:
- 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or related operations role
- Basic understanding of procurement and inventory concepts
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Willingness to learn and operate in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume or regulated manufacturing environments
- APICS, CPSM, or equivalent certification
- Experience supporting NPI or rapid-scale production

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this full-time position is between $80,000 and $108,000. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
