Position Overview
The Field Service Operations Administrator assists with service sales orders and work order entry, ensures complete and accurate records following work performed by the service team, maintains Salesforce data, dashboards, and reports, provides updates in field meetings, and plays a supporting role in coordinating field activities. They are responsible for data integrity as an input to critical decision-making.
Near Term Deliverables:
- Complete classroom training within the first two weeks.
- Offload administrative functions from service management within the first month.
- Produce field productivity reports with help from service management in the first quarter.
Essential Functions:
- Interact with the Customer Service, Operations, and Finance teams on business needs
- Manage integrity of service data records (asset configuration, cases, work orders, calibrations, and service contracts)
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards within the Salesforce CRM
- Navigate bills of material in Agile PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) to ensure accurate part orders
- Enter parts sales orders in the Netsuite system to assist field service and for upgrades
- Enter and manage field service work orders
- Communicate case and work order KPIs (key performance indicators) to management
- Participate in developing processes, procedures, and documentation
- Participate in team meetings and other business meetings
- Other duties as needed or required
Education:
- Required: Associate degree in operations, business, or another applicable field
- Desired: Undergraduate (bachelor’s equivalent) degree or higher
Experience:
- Required:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience supporting customer service organizations for complex capital equipment products sold to industrial customers requiring high quality and criticality
- Experience managing data and creating reports within ticketing systems, CRM, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and PLM software.
- Advanced Excel skills such as the use of VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Desired:
- Startup experience
- Military service
- Experience supporting semiconductor or 3D additive manufacturing equipment
- Database query skills (SQL)
- Scripting languages such as VBA or Python
Other Requirements:
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Working at a desk in an open office environment for extended periods of time
- High frequency of computer keyboarding
- High frequency of viewing a computer monitor
- Other personal protective equipment as applicable
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed remotely or at Velo3D facilities.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this full-time position is between $55,000 and $90,000. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
