Position Overview
As the Manager for the NPI Supply Chain in R&D, you will:
Shorten engineering development cycles by:
1) Dramatically reducing turn-around time of material procurement of R&D projects.
2) Ensuring ALL material required for prototype testing is available, eliminating shortages of any subset of parts/components.
3) Dramatically reduce the amount of time engineers need to spend managing/contacting suppliers.
Shorten time for the roll-out of Engineering Changes to Manufacturing and to the Field, by:
1) Collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations Supply chain.
2) Collaborating to provide a clean and clear handoff between R&D Supply Chain and Operations Supply Chain for each change.
3) Supporting Operations Supply Chain in developing production-level suppliers for engineering changes.
4) Enabling Operations Supply Chain team early interception of Production suppliers and orders to allow efficient, fast change adoption to the manufacturing floor.
Essential Functions
- Lead the Purchasing, Planning, and Warehouse teams of the R&D Department.
- Review released Engineering Lifecycle Change Orders (ECO) to drive project validation and implementation.
- Advise/ensure Material Planning to create and/or update Work Orders.
- Advise/ensure Purchasing to create and/or update Purchase orders.
- Advise/ensure the Warehouse team of actions for the On-Hand material disposition of the ECO.
- Advise/ensure the Warehouse team on kitting Work Order prioritization between multiple projects.
- Collaborate upcoming/released Production Lifecycle Change Orders with;
- Manufacturing Engineering team to provide Engineering created documentation.
- Operations (Production) Supply Chain team.
- Advise Production Material Planning regarding changes and dispositions affecting open production Work Orders.
- Advise the Production Purchasing team regarding changes and dispositions affecting open production purchase orders.
- Advise the Production Warehouse team of incoming changes affecting on-hand inventory
- Incoming/transferrable inventory remaining from Engineering’s R&D purchase.
Qualifications
- 10-15 years experience in purchasing and materials management, minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, higher degree preferred
- Materials Planning, Purchasing and Fulfillment skills required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with both local sourcing and global supply base.
- Confident in working in a high-pace dynamic environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and ensuring task completion and deadlines are met
- Ability to multitask and effectively communicate progress and risks timely
- A quick learner and team player, with exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- ·Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this full-time position is between $150,000 and $165,000. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
