Position Overview
As the Material Planner – Service you support our field service team in minimizing machine downtimes and thus ensuring our customers’ long-lasting success. You will be monitoring and planning the supply of inventory levels in the field, assuring supply for service orders and aftermarket sales orders, and being the on-site advocate for our field service team.
The successful Material Planner – Service has a high sense of urgency and displays ownership of outcomes. Building relationships across departments and maintaining excellent communication with stakeholders will be key in helping the team meet its goals

Responsibilities

  • Review stock levels across multiple warehouses
  • Issue purchase requisitions and work orders for timely replenishment
  • Enter transfer orders to leverage global inventory for the best coverage
  • Allocate available inventory and trigger expedited procurement of back-ordered items to ensure the quickest possible fulfillment of service-related sales orders
  • Communicate clear priorities of sales orders to the shipping team as needed; notify stakeholders of hot drop-ins
  • Monitor aging purchase requisitions and sales orders
  • Collaborate with your peers across different departments to resolve any bottlenecks; escalate as needed
  • Identify gaps in the supply chain and processes, and communicate possible process improvements to close them
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience with purchasing and planning, associates degree in relevant discipline or equivalent preferred
  • Understanding of field service operations; customer-focused mindset
  • Proficient use of computer systems and software applications
  • MS Excel proficiency is required (will be tested during interviews)
  • Advanced understanding of ERP systems and how they function; experience with two or more ERP systems preferred (NetSuite experience desired, but not required)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident in working in a fast-paced environment; the sense of urgency is a must
  • Ability to multitask and effectively communicate progress and risks timely
  • Ownership of outcomes of assigned tasks and responsibilities
  • Curious self-starter who is not afraid to ask questions in order to broaden understanding of company and product
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands & Work Environment (work is performed primarily in a warehouse):

  • Able to be on-site for a minimum of 8 working hours a day; may require longer hours if needed
  • Able to lift a maximum of 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
  • Must wear steel-toed boots when in designated areas
  • Must wear protective eyewear when in designated areas
  • Other personal protective equipment as applicable
  • May require hearing protection
  • Extended times of computer keyboarding
  • Extended times of viewing a computer monitor

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this full-time contractor position is between $76,960 and $91,520. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
