About Veev

Veev is leading the transformation of the construction industry with an innovative approach to modular home construction. Veev’s prefabricated closed-panel systems allow homes to be assembled efficiently on-site while delivering a more sustainable and higher-quality final product than traditional construction. As a new subsidiary of Lennar, Veev leverages the strength and scale of its parent company while maintaining the speed and disruptive approach of its roots as a Silicon Valley-based startup. Veev has developed a vertically integrated approach that involves multidisciplinary collaboration across real estate, design, development, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

This role is critical to Veev’s mission of scaling a fully integrated digital product and manufacturing platform. In this role, you will lead development of the MCAD systems, standards, and workflows that connect engineering design to manufacturing execution. Your work will directly impact Veev’s ability to scale production, improve design reuse, and ensure reliable product data across the digital thread.

The Role

As the Manager, MCAD, you will lead the development and standardization of Veev’s mechanical design systems, ensuring that MCAD outputs are structured, scalable, and aligned with manufacturing and production requirements.

You will define and drive MCAD strategy, including parametric modeling approaches, data structures, and workflows that enable efficient design, reuse, and downstream production integration.

This role owns the integrity and performance of MCAD systems across the organization, ensuring design outputs are accurate, consistent, and directly support fabrication, assembly, and downstream digital workflows. You will work closely with PLM, BIM, Software, and Engineering Production teams to ensure alignment across the digital thread and enable scalable product execution.

This role is also responsible for evaluating and evolving Veev’s MCAD platform strategy, including assessing emerging tools (e.g., Onshape) and their impact on design workflows, data management, and production integration.

Responsibilities

  • MCAD Strategy & Systems - Define and implement MCAD strategy, including modeling methodologies, parametric structures, and design standards across the organization.
  • Team Leadership & Technical Direction - Lead and develop the MCAD team while setting a high bar for system quality, technical rigor, and scalable engineering practices.
  • PDM & Data Integrity - Own the integrity, structure, and performance of the PDM system, ensuring accurate and consistent product data.
  • Design-to-Production Integration - Ensure MCAD outputs are aligned with manufacturing requirements, supporting seamless CAD-to-CAM workflows and production readiness.
  • Standards & Methodologies - Develop and enforce MCAD standards, templates, and best practices to enable scalability and cross-team consistency.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment - Partner with PLM, BIM, Software, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of MCAD systems with broader product and production workflows.
  • Automation & Tooling - Define requirements for MCAD automation and integration tools in collaboration with Software and PLM teams.
  • Training & Enablement - Build training programs and support adoption of MCAD tools, standards, and workflows across the organization.
  • Performance & Delivery - Own team performance, ensuring high-quality outputs delivered on time and aligned with project and production needs.
  • MCAD Platform Strategy - Evaluate and guide decisions on MCAD platforms and tools, including assessing solutions such as Onshape, and defining their impact on workflows, data structures, and integration with PLM and manufacturing systems.
  • Hands-On Systems Leadership - Contribute directly to development of MCAD standards, workflows, and system-level design decisions in a hands-on capacity.
  • Design Reuse & Scalability - Drive development of reusable parametric design frameworks that improve consistency, scalability, and engineering efficiency.

Must-Have Skills and Competencies

  • Deep expertise in SolidWorks and MCAD systems, including advanced parametric modeling, large assemblies, and PDM (SolidWorks PDM or similar).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design and drafting principles, including adherence to recognized industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO).
  • Proven experience defining and implementing MCAD standards, methodologies, and workflows in a production environment.
  • Experience aligning mechanical design outputs with manufacturing requirements, including CAD-to-CAM workflows.
  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to connect mechanical design, data structures, and production requirements.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and evolve MCAD platforms, workflows, and data structures in production-driven environments.
  • Experience leading and developing engineering teams, with the ability to drive adoption of standards and best practices across an organization.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methods, materials, and production workflows.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.

Education & Experience

  • B.Sc., M.Sc., or Engineer’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a certificate from a recognized establishment in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an MCAD-related profession, with at least 3 years in a leadership role

Nice-to-Have Skills and Competencies

  • Familiarity with pre-fabrication and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with advanced CAD/CAM software or niche MCAD platforms beyond SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency in programming languages used for MCAD automation, such as VBA, VB.Net, or C#.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing technologies, such as additive manufacturing or CNC machining.
  • Knowledge of pre-fabrication processes in the construction domain and their integration with MCAD workflows.
  • Familiarity with BIM tools and workflows, bridging MCAD and construction disciplines.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native CAD platforms such as Onshape and their integration into engineering and manufacturing workflows.
