In this role, you will directly contribute to the efficiency, sustainability, and quality of modern home construction by overseeing all aspects of production planning, scheduling, and inventory control to ensure efficient manufacturing operations . Your work will have a tangible impact on Veev’s ability to scale operations and drive industry-wide change.

The Role

As a Senior Production Control Manager, you will play a key leadership role in driving operational excellence, leading teams, and delivering results that align with Veev’s mission. You will be responsible for setting strategy, driving execution, and fostering collaboration across teams. This role requires a dynamic leader who can think strategically while executing tactically, driving continuous improvement, and delivering impactful results.

The Senior Manager Production Control is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production planning, scheduling, and inventory control to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. This role leads a team responsible for balancing demand, capacity, and material flow to meet production targets while optimizing costs, minimizing waste, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and execute master production schedules (MPS) based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate with sales, procurement, and operations to align production plans with business objectives.
  • Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to meet deadlines.
  • Optimize resource allocation (labor, equipment, materials) to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Inventory & Material Control

  • Oversee raw material, WIP (work-in-progress), and finished goods inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely material availability.
  • Implement inventory control strategies (e.g., JIT, Kanban, safety stock optimization) to reduce carrying costs.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accuracy.

Shop Floor Coordination

  • Work closely with manufacturing supervisors to ensure smooth execution of production schedules.
  • Resolve production delays, material shortages, or quality issues in real time.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S) to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Systems & Data Management

  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) to manage production orders, BOMs, and material requirements.
  • Generate performance reports (OTD, schedule adherence, inventory turns) and present insights to leadership.
  • Lead digital transformation efforts (e.g., automation, advanced planning tools) to improve production control processes.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with procurement, logistics, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Develop training programs to enhance team skills in production control best practices.

Must-Have Skills and Competencies

  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of successfully leading teams and driving results in Manufacturing, Logistics, and Production teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop a strategic vision and translate it into operational plans and actionable initiatives.
  • Operational Expertise: Experience leading operational improvements, scaling processes, and driving efficiency across teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to analyze complex challenges, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Clear, effective communication skills with the ability to present ideas to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling software, Excel/data analysis skills (pivot tables, macros, Power BI), and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies.
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
  • License in APICS CPIM/CSCP, Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) (preferred)

Compensation

Offers are based on a combination of experience, skills, and location. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role is $160,000-$190,000 annually for Hayward, CA.
