Veev has developed a vertically integrated approach that involves multi-disciplinary collaboration across real estate, design, development, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

The Role

As the PLM Manager, you will oversee a team of PLM experts with PDM expertise, and manage the existing software systems at Veev. This role is crucial in enabling the sustainment of product and feature development, ensuring seamless integration of changes across engineering, manufacturing, and operations. You will be responsible for implementing robust change management processes, streamlining part creation/modification, and driving infrastructure changes to improve configuration management and control. This role is 80% tactical and 20% strategic.

Responsibilities

System Standardization:

  • Establish and oversee document control standards as a CCB leader for product documentation, BOMs, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting, and enhancing the SolidWorks PDM integration with Arena PLM, including ECR, ECO, and MCO workflows. Assisting in defining and communicating input requirements from other departments.
  • Collaborating with SMEs on PDM and PLM to upkeep PDM and PLM Change Management to Veev Standards.

Change Control & Configuration Management:

  • Own and manage the PLM system (Arena), ensuring accurate and up-to-date product data, BOMs, and configuration control for all products.
  • Lead cross-functional CCB meetings, guiding discussions on change impacts, timelines, and responsibilities to align all stakeholders on change implementation.
  • Managing document control and review processes, including inspecting datasets prior to release to PLM.
  • Collaborating with various departments to ensure that supporting documents needing version control are effectively integrated and managed within the SolidWorks PDM systems and linked to PLM.
  • Develop Configuration Management Standard for Veev, including product configurations, revision control, and baseline tracking.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular audits of document and change control processes to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal quality requirements.
  • Implement quality control measures for documentation and configuration items, supporting a high standard of data integrity and reliability.

Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Act as the central point of coordination for all product change activities, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure seamless product updates.
  • Manage a team of PLM & PDM Change Control Executionists on daily tasks, measuring progress and project managing release of new or modified parts to BOMs
  • Develop and maintain detailed process maps and workflows for change management and configuration processes, ensuring transparency and clarity across teams.

Training & Oversight:

  • Develop training materials, SOPs, and guidelines to support consistent use of PDM, PLM and change control processes across the organization.
  • Possessing expert knowledge in defining and maintaining SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years in change control, document control, configuration management, and PLM administration within engineering, manufacturing, or construction.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and managing PLM systems, particularly Arena PLM, and leading change control initiatives at a senior level.
  • Proven expertise in managing document lifecycle, BOM control, and configuration management with strong adherence to industry standards.
  • Proficiency with PLM systems (Arena PLM preferred) and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit) for effective document and data management.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management, ECR/ECO workflows, approval workflows, and BOM management within a complex product lifecycle environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) is an asset.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams, facilitating CCB meetings, and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to clearly convey complex change control information to all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in document control, change management, or configuration management.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies in construction, manufacturing, or similar industries.
  • Strong risk assessment and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to managing complex, cross-functional change initiatives.
  • Exceptional accuracy and diligence in managing document and configuration data.
  • Ability to work independently, taking initiative in improving processes and driving change control best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, adept at assessing impacts and finding solutions to complex product configuration issues.
  • Skilled in preparing and presenting technical information to various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the people's side of change, with the ability to empathize, communicate effectively, and address concerns across various levels of the organization.
  • Skilled in navigating resistance and fostering positive engagement, this leader brings a supportive, adaptable approach to change management, helping teams transition smoothly and embrace new processes with confidence.

Compensation

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $140,000 - $170,000 annually for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
