Veev has developed a vertically integrated approach that involves multi-disciplinary collaboration across real estate, design, development, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

The Role

The Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of contract management, from initial negotiation to execution and compliance monitoring. This role requires a deep understanding of contract law, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to support business objectives and mitigate risk. The Contracts Manager will ensure that all contracts adhere to company policies, meet legal and regulatory standards, and align with company goals.

Responsibilities

Veev is currently seeking a Contracts Manager with the requisite experience who will have responsibility for the following:

  • Interface with senior management on contractual issues.
  • Manage and provide leadership responsibility including but not limited to: proposal preparation (reviewing costs volumes, providing oversight of model contract and intellectual property considerations), assessment of terms and conditions to ensure the corporation is protected from unusual risk and sustains or improves Veev's long range plan.
  • Work on a wide range of complex programmatic matters and provide advice and counsel on contractual and procurement-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain relationships to ensure positive and constructive interactions.
  • Negotiates subcontracts, teaming, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Ensures contracts achieves optimal operational performance by adhering to contract policies, procedures, methods, operating practices, and working in partnership with the business leaders to drive performance standards.
  • Duties may include management and administration of company contracts, including contract negotiations, to achieve the company annual operating plan.
  • Reviews and resolves issues affecting company compliance and ensures the satisfaction of legal requirements, Company, and customer objectives by working closely with the Department leaders, General Counsel, and other senior executives.
  • Provides strategic guidance to completion on more complex bids.
  • Build a team of contract administrators as the company grows.

Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree. A JD or other advanced degree is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in contract management, procurement, legal, or related field.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of contract law, contract management principles, and risk management.
    • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on favorable contract terms and compliance.
    • Proficiency in contract management software and tools—Ironclad preferred.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.

Compensation

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $115,000 - $130,000 annually for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
