The Role
Are you detailed oriented with superb, hands on tool making / engineering skills, and an excellent knowledge of unique tools addressing assembly, repair and building challenges. Wall to Wall is seeking a Maintenance Techician to partner with the fast moving teams in our Engineering, assembly and fabrication areas. You will be responsible for daily maintenance and repairs as well as making or improving different types of tools to enable the production processes to be as efficient as possible. This may include fabricating jigs, fixtures or clamps to obtain a more robust consistently produced part that meets the specification of the engineering solution. Support the fabrication and implementation for new tooling and equipment for new product introductions. Work on many phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of moderate complexity, with results impacting on project completion. Work under general supervision, reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Senior Management.
Responsibilities
- Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production
- Assist in tooling buy offs and trials
- Manufacture new tooling and ancillary spares to support production activity and customer deadlines
- Routine maintenance and attend breakdowns,
- Ensure all work is undertaken to a high quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations
- Carry out engineering level changes to tools and modifications
- Maintain the highest standards of workmanship at all times
- Record all relevant data in relation to tooling and record on the Tool Room database
- Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of milling and lathe use
- Knowledge of measurement
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- Understanding manufacturing processes
- Understanding of Health and Safety practices
- Understand lean manufacturing
- Read and follow written and verbal instructions and work standards
- Familiarity with design CAD tools such as - Autocad, solidworks preferred
- Work in a diverse and dynamic environment
Preferred Skills
- Experienced 2 Axis conversational programing (Prototrak)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to present data effectively
- Good fabrication skills - Welding, cutting, Drilling, assembling. Manual Machining a plus.

- Ability to work on own initiative
- Able to work as part of a team
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a safe manner
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $ 35.00- $45.00 Per hour for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
