The Role

As a Supply Chain Buyer, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the procurement processes within our organization. Your primary responsibilities will involve sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services essential for our operations. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain robust relationships with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies to meet the company's cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and pricing to ensure competitive procurement.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., production, engineering, quality assurance, finance, and engineering) to understand and meet their material and service needs.
  • Manage the procurement process from purchase order creation to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and resolve supply chain issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other essential procurement information.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior procurement role, preferably within the construction or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (knowledge in Netsuite and/or Arena a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices and current market trends.
  • Experience with international procurement and logistics is a plus.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM) is desirable.

Physical Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the associate to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Some travel required. Finger dexterity is necessary.

Compensation

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $80,000- $90,000 annually for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
