We are looking for a highly motivated Business Development and Strategic Accounts Director, US to join our team!

How You’ll Contribute

  • Be the primary leader and front line that is driving Ultima’s commercial penetration directed towards strategic commercial accounts in the U.S.
  • Develop relationships at the C-suite and key functional leadership roles within critical customer accounts. Identify growth opportunities and needs from current strategic account customers and establish and execute strategies to drive increased penetration and strength of relationships within these accounts.
  • Pursue business development activities aimed at establishing partnerships with other technology providers in our ecosystem to create cohesive solutions that drive increased penetration within strategic accounts.
  • Prioritize, align and organize internal resources to win, develop, and expand the utilization of Ultima in commercial accounts.
  • Create and develop strategic plans and tactical actions to achieve critical goals; establish operational routines to regularly align actions with internal colleagues – C-suite, technical and support teams.
  • Deliver quarterly and annual revenue expectations.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Degree in Biology or related discipline required. Advanced degrees (M.S., Ph.D. or MBA) are a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in either business development, sales, consulting, product management, or investment banking with experience in genomics technologies and/or applications used by commercial organizations and/or academic laboratories in the U.S. Experience with business development dynamics and deal models, complex and stage-gated sales processes.
  • Current, deep knowledge of genomics technology, applications and methods.
  • Functional knowledge of clinical assay development timelines and requirements, including use cases in biopharma studies, clinical trials and healthcare applications.
  • Strong awareness of clinical genomics testing market dynamics and trends; emphasis on oncology/tumor sequencing, liquid biopsy and MRD related applications.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating customer relationships at the C-suite level and comfortable being on the front line and driving relationship building and partnership discussions.
  • Track record of business development involving, or selling and implementing, new applications and solutions throughout matrixed, multi-site and commercial entities.
  • Ability to travel 50%.

At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $175,000 and $225,000, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
