We are looking for a highly motivated Strategic Finance Manager to join our team!

In this role, you will be a key member of the Strategic Finance team supporting the Head of Strategic Finance in executing value-added initiatives focused on enhancing the company’s business prospects, growth and profitability. Use data and financial modeling to help the company make better decisions and understand the financial impact of broad corporate initiatives. Use research and relationship skills to help the Company build and execute its partnership strategy with industry, technology and commercial partners. Projects can include evaluating external business and corporate development opportunities, pricing analysis, cost optimization, geographical and market expansion, board meeting preparation, internal reporting and analytics, and fundraising activities.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Lead cross-functional partnerships across the organization to drive strategic decision making, initiative and resource prioritization and budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Prepare insightful analyses for cross functional leadership team; identify areas of opportunity to shape the Company’s strategic direction including evaluating organic and inorganic opportunities
  • Research, evaluate and execute external business and corporate development opportunities
  • Assist with board meeting and investor presentations for board reporting and fundraising efforts
  • Evaluate organic and inorganic resource allocation and investment strategies, facilitate ad-hoc analyses, and own special projects including, but not limited to:
    • Supporting the launch of new product lines or expansion into new markets
    • Assessing new risks and opportunities for corporate and R&D initiatives
    • Driving internal initiatives to improve data infrastructure and reporting
    • Developing and maintaining KPIs to assist with decision-making that aligns with the company’s objectives
  • Support the budgeting and planning process by developing and maintaining detailed financial models
  • Other ad hoc projects as requested

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Very strong at financial modeling, data analytics and communicating complex topics to business leaders. An ideal candidate is someone who has had 4+ years recommended in either investment banking, consulting, business or corporate development, or investing roles as well as 3+ years of experience in a highly strategic, analytical, and operational role within a rapidly growing company
  • Self-starters, people who don’t need lots of hand holding and are biased to action, capable strategic thinkers – people that can make decisions and move quickly from project to project
  • Science background or industry experience highly preferred
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required
  • Demonstrated success working in a deadline driven and multi-task, fast-paced environment
  • Clear leadership and development potential

At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $140,000 and $175,000, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
