Why Sentry Credit?

After 30 years in the debt resolutions space, Sentry Credit began our most exciting chapter yet by joining the TrueML family in 2025. Now, our story continues as we expand our team beyond Everett, WA and into Lenexa, KS; where we can partner more closely with TrueAccord as we revolutionize the debt resolution industry.

About This Role

As the Unit Manager, Collections in Lenexa, you will be a cornerstone of our operational transformation. You aren’t just stepping into a management seat; you are the architect of our first Sentry collections team in Kansas. Your mission is to build, stabilize, and lead a high-performing team of ~16 specialists through a period of exciting growth. We are looking for a hands-on coach who thrives in the "center of the action," someone who can foster a winning culture while delivering the results that fuel our mission to humanize financial recovery.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and Stabilize a New Legacy: Lead the charge in launching our Lenexa site, ensuring a seamless transition and establishing a high bar for performance from day one.
  • Coach for Excellence: Own the development of your team. You’ll spend your time on the floor providing real-time feedback, reinforcing elite negotiation techniques, and helping your specialists maximize every opportunity to collect.

  • Drive Measurable Impact: Take full accountability for team KPIs, including dollars collected, conversion rates, and quality standards. You won't just track metrics; you’ll analyze trends and take immediate action to improve them.

  • Own the Operational Heartbeat: Manage the daily engine of your unit—from scheduling and attendance to productivity and compliance—ensuring we stay lean, efficient, and FDCPA-ready.

  • Lead Through Change: Act as the primary communicator for your team, providing clarity and maintaining high engagement as we evolve our systems and workflows.

  • Partner Strategically: Collaborate with Workforce Management, Training, and Operations leadership to ensure your team is staffed, trained, and ready to win.

  • Champion Integrity: Ensure that every interaction on your team meets our rigorous standards for empathy and ethical recovery, protecting both the consumer and the business.

Who You Are:

  • A Proven Leader: You bring 3+ years of experience in collections or call center leadership, with at least 1–2 years of direct people management experience. You know how to move the needle on a team level.

  • A Hands-on Coach: You don't lead from a closed office. You are at your best when you’re "in the work," providing live support and helping your team navigate complex conversations.

  • Metrics-Obsessed: You have a deep understanding of collections math and negotiation strategies. You find genuine satisfaction in hitting (and exceeding) performance targets like liquidation and conversion.

  • A Resilient Change Agent: You stay composed and motivated during periods of growth and transition. You know how to keep a team focused and engaged when the playbook is evolving.

  • An Elite Communicator: You can distill high-level operational goals into actionable daily tasks for your team, ensuring everyone knows exactly what success looks like.

  • A Problem Solver: When performance dips or logic errors arise, you have the analytical mindset to find the root cause and the grit to implement a fix immediately.
