About the Job

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Director to drive value through effective sourcing strategies, supplier management, and operational excellence. This role will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that align with our organizational goals while optimizing costs, mitigating risks, and ensuring supply chain continuity.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of leading high-performing procurement teams, negotiating complex contracts, and implementing best practices that deliver measurable business impact. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance long-term planning with day-to-day operational needs while fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

The US based salary range for this position is $163,500 to 238,500. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership The Procurement Director will develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies that support the organization's objectives, including cost optimization, quality improvement, and risk mitigation. This involves conducting market analysis, identifying opportunities for competitive advantage, and leading strategic sourcing initiatives across all categories of spend. You will establish procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls. You will also have a key role in M&A situations in both due diligence and integration phases.

Team Management and Development This role reports to the VP of Procurement and is at this point a senior individual contributor role.

Supplier Relationship Management Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure optimal performance, innovation, and value creation. This includes conducting supplier evaluations, leading contract negotiations, managing supplier performance scorecards, and developing supplier diversity programs. You will establish partnership frameworks with critical suppliers while maintaining robust contingency planning for supply chain disruptions.

Financial Management and Cost Optimization Drive cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives through strategic sourcing, demand management, and process improvements. You will develop and manage the procurement budget, track savings metrics, and provide regular financial reporting to executive leadership. This role requires strong analytical skills to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within spending data.

Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with departments across the organization including Finance, Operations, Legal, IT, and Business Units to understand requirements, align procurement activities with business needs, and ensure seamless execution. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on procurement matters and participate in strategic planning initiatives.

Process Improvement and Technology Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency, effectiveness, and user experience. Lead the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of procurement technologies including orchestration platforms and AI adoption, contract management systems, and spend analytics tools. Drive adoption of best practices and standardization across the procurement function.

What We’re Looking For

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive procurement experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience managing procurement operations with significant annual spend ($150M+) in the technology sector - covering both indirect and direct spend (hardware, devices)
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic sourcing programs
  • Experience in M&A due diligence and post-merger integration phases

Professional Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and risk management principles
  • Deep experience with procurement technology platforms, ERP systems, and spend analytics tools

  • Exceptional negotiation skills with proven track record of delivering value through supplier agreements
  • Strong financial acumen including cost modeling, total cost of ownership analysis, and budget management

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in procurement systems (ERP, e-sourcing, contract management platforms)
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools
  • Understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory management principles
